Nice little game. I included it in my GM48: Colors are Important compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/QrF-3ZnvIJU

This is really really good for your first game jam game!

Please keep working on it and let me know how it progresses! I want to keep playing this. It has such huge potential! 😄

NOTE: It is impossible to search for this game name, maybe the ! messes with indexing - just a heads up.

Simple platformer with the beginnings of some nice mechanics. I would have liked to see more levels and difficult puzzles, as well as more variety in block types. It's a shame you didn't have time to incorporate more gameplay so this game could prove itself.

I also wasn't clear in the secondary fire to bounce. The icon probably has the right side highlighted but i can't make it out.

yeah i did find that you cant search the game i don't really care its already in the title when you start the game. i might change it i don't know.

as for the game being very clunky, this was my first jam and I've only been coding for 2 weeks before this game came out and it took me 8 hours to make.

I've been working on the game post jam and i fixed a lot of the problems you pointed out.

thank you for your feedback :D

This game is an interesting concept, but I don't feel like it was given enough time to really show its potential! I can see the gun mechanic becoming more interesting for puzzles, but the few levels made the experience feel a bit lacking.

The game itself, I also feel did not tie too strongly into the theme! I can see the attempt being made by coloring objects, but because the player has control over what is being changed, I did not feel much significant for the color itself. This was also not helped by the fact that the jumping blocks have an arrow on them!

If the levels themselves already had colored blocks, that could make things interesting, since the player would have to be more mindful of what block they might need to land on.

Overall, I can still appreciate the attempt that was made, and for your first GM48, I think this is still a nice submission.

thank you for you feedback. i knew that the game didn't have much to do with the theme it was the only idea i had at the time and by the time i thought of better mechanics it was to close to the deadline.

if you look at the title of the game its called !color meaning not color because i knew the game didn't have much at all to do with the theme of the jam :P

post jam i made the game much better and am still working on different mechanics

As someone whom this is also their first jam, I'm impressed with what you made! The controls are nice, but they feel slightly too fast for the precise nature of the platforming, and the dual mechanic of the gun has real potential, especially if combined together. Good first entry!

thank you for your kind feedback. the movement needed to be slower i just didn't have much time to play test or think of what needed to be fixed. i'm glad you liked the dual mechanic of the gun it was my favorite thing to code. post jam i added slower movement speed and i changed the gun mechanic to have the ability to turn the green or blue block back to the normal wall. i'm also working on better level design and better looking art. as for your game i can't seem to get past one of the walls is there a mechanic i didn't find?

edit: also if you want to play a game that did a much better job at this gun mechanic then try ColorGun it was made for the same jam :D

    Really cool and fun concept!
It would be cool if there were some more levels, but I know what restrictions you had ;)
It's just a bit empty with no music...
But overall really good for the first time.
