This was a team collaboration between me and a friend, for our first game jam ever!

Gameplay: Evil Ninjas will spawn in and chase after you! To kill them, you need to match their color. Jump in a puddle of paint with the S key, and your color will change! You regenerate health while you're in the puddle, but if you stay inside it for too long, it will dry up! Once you match the enemy's color, attack them with the A key.

Good start! I included it in my GM48: Colors are Important compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/5oPza5MRAiY

This game was pretty difficult! I kept getting stun-locked by enemies, and couldn't land a hit without them hitting me back. A block or sneak mechanic could help give the gameplay some variety and the player some survivability.

It has the foundation of a fun brawler though. I like the sword swing animation and the ability to regain health from color pools is a fun idea.

It felt a little barebones. It would've been great with combos or pick-ups, like items of some sort.

Really solid entry. 😊 Thanks for participating!

I really liked the art of the characters.

It was a simple game but 48 hours what do you expect, you incorporated the theme well.

Thinks to improve, add more sound effects, I'd say music but I haven't myself being tone deaf hehe, but it'd help our games as you probs already know!

I loved street fighter type games, but felt you needed a bit more, and some more tweaking so enemies can't hit you from so far away would be the thing i'd change most.

I love the rest bite while changing color and the fact it gives you some health, this is done well!

Very nice for a first jam game! Great that you managed to finish whilst working as a team. Couple of points, the hitbox on the player is quite large, so the enemies can hit you from pretty far away interuptting your movement. It would also be nice if there was a way to recover health (unless I missed it) to keep the streak going. I love the art style and the sound effects are fitting. Good help menu. A nice, complete game.

EDIT: Apologies for missing the health-regen mechanic!

Thank you for the feedback, it's very appreciated! You can recover health, although I do see how that could be missed. I updated the game's description to give more info on the mechanics.
