Move uses LEFT & RIGHT arrows, with UP to jump. Open the Blood Magic screen using the E key, here you can exchange parts of your body for more magic.

BEWARE! Sacrificing body parts will hinder your abilities! Without legs, you cannot jump high or run fast. Without arms, you cannot balance yourself. Without eyes... well you cannot see!

In certain levels, you can use the F key to activate Light Bridges, these make the path easier but cost you Magic Points.

Pretty good concept, though as has been mentioned it does suffer from some balance issues and bugs (got stuck in a block on the last level, restarted but lost a leg and couldn't complete). But really though, pretty darned amazing concept which has a lot of promise with a little more polish. Keep it up!

Great concept! Had a little trouble with dying one time, losing a leg for it, and then not being able to progress because I couldn't jump high enough to get over a single block.

This is the best take on the theme I've seen yet, and I love how you tried to execute it.

I said tried because in the end even if all the ideas were in the right place and the game works well it's still so unpolished that it looks like a shitty prototype, the art is really bad, the sound is alright, but the level design is horrible and I feel like those things undermine how cool the starting idea could've been.

I really like the concept of affecting the way you see (or not see) the game when losing body parts! I will agree with Veralos here as you don't exactly need MP and some body parts are necessary (such as both eyes...)

That being said, i played one game with no arms, ears and not nose just to have massive MP (about 1800 if i remember right) and the game was way to easy. Bahaha

Really wonderful core concept! I included it in my GM48: Sacrifice compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/MxThB7fKjVE

It's a cool idea but it doesn't quite work as well as it could. There are few places where you actually need to use MP so if you play optimally you barely need to sacrifice anything. However, the game can become unwinnable if you somehow lose your legs or eyes. It's a shame you don't really need to use MP because the game is a lot more interesting when you have to deal with the downsides of losing stuff. Overall, the game could be improved a lot if the sacrifices were more balanced and there was more use for MP.

The visuals and audio are both pretty average, though the sacrifice menu looks kind of cool.

The concept is really interesting, but as the others already said, the execution was a bit off. I could easily complete the game only sacrificing non gameplay-affecting parts as the two ears and the nose. On the other hand (no pun intended), sacrificing a leg or the eyes could drastically change your gameplay, at the point to make it unwinnable, although you could earn a lot of MP by that.

One way of balancing your system could be adding new uses to MP, like a super jump or a super fire ball. Also, giving sounds to steps, collisions with walls and nearby enemies would greatly help handle the gameplay when your character has no eyes.

Nice concept. I just didn't like the fact that if you lose something like a leg early on then the game is impossible to complete... :/

I really like the concept! Only problem was that it was too easy to get into an unwinnable state. I fell off a platform, lost a leg and couldn't jump high enough to scale a single block! I suppose that's realistic, though. Yeah, like I said, the concept is great, but the execution needs work. Maybe you could sacrifice a body part to revive another?

The idea is really fun, and the effects of losing body parts are nice, but it's a shame that you don't really have to use your MPs to get to the end.

I launched it again to see the different effects, as I only lost one ear by falling the first time, and I had to close / relaunch again because I went blind :D
