"You've finally got an interview! It's at 10:30am, so you'll have to make sure you make it there before the interview is supposed to start!

Your mum has kindly left you with some money to buy some new clothes for the interview!

Oh! But you also have to make sure that you have left over money to get to the office for the interview, as it's half an hours walk away!

You can easily get the job, you just have to make sure you do the following:

Read up on the company (on Wikipedia of course!) Buy some new threads (cost effective ones that could still impress)
Get to the office in time (maybe the bus will show up on time!)
Don't make a fool of myself! (don't exaggerate my salary, don't exaggerate my salary, don't exaggerate my salary!!)
EASY!!"

This is my first entry for GM48, the game I have made; 'Don't Blow' is a good example of the "games" I usually make for Ludum Dare, it's not action packed, you just make choices towards the eventual outcome. All controls are achieved with a mouse and keyboard, the essential stuff is simply accessible with the mouse, however if you want to view your state-of-the-art digital watch to check the time, then you'll need to use the space bar.

It's just a bit of fun, I am aware there is an issue when text formatting when the game is restarted on HTML5. Didn't get much time for testing, so there may be a few bugs. Similarly I did not have the time for the sound effects or animations that I was intending to implement, so transitions between areas are sudden and jarring.

Simple right!

Interesting concept for a game, and pretty creative use of the theme. It's satisfying when you manage to remember all the correct details and get the job. I feel like a bit more could have been done with it though. There didn't seem to be much pressure with managing time/money which is unfortunate because that sounded like an interesting challenge.

The visual style is neat and all fits together nicely. There could be a bit more feedback on where to click, though. Maybe some elements could highlight/animate when you hover over them. The lack of audio was disappointing but understandable.

Would have liked a few more options. Most answers were just too obvious and common in interviews. Although I guess it's an accurate lesson on how to behave in an interview (telling the truth, knowing the company, being aware of what the company needs) How many different companies were there? Only got Non-biotics and Fresh Feelings but I assumed there was a third one that I never got (about biscuits and a very old company?)

Not sure how the way you dressed impacted the interview.

Overall, i guess the game was too easy as long as you could remember things and think just a bit. I like how you gotta arrive on time and all but it's just too easy because all you need to do is read and dress up. The rest doesn't seem to have a real impact on the game.

Aside that, it was fun and it had some content. I like how you made fake wikipedia pages with logos! Nice touch.

Note: don't allow the player to quick so quickly, when i first played, I skipped a screen or two cause i clicked too fast and couldn't see what I missed

The interface got a little wonky after the first playthrough in the browser version (name of interviewer misaligned, clothing option slid up of the screen), but I still enjoyed a few times through trying to win.

Using spacebar to check the time is a great touch!

The game was nice, Im not usally one for a lot of text and dialouge in games but this was nice. The UI could have been a little cleaner but otherwise very nice!

    Nice work!

Good idea, very good graphics, more sound please.

Really nice concept, some sounds would've added to the immersion too, but there's obviously not time for everything in a jam.

Managing to get all the small stuff right was quite rewarding, even though I had to use a text file to actually win the game, I have horrible memory.

The gameplay was honestly quite dull though, the answers were either obvious or just a "remember what you read before" kinda deal, and I think with a little more variation it would've been even more fun.

Very unique take on the One Shot theme with a bit of a choose your own adventure or visual novel feel. I was playing the the browser version and after my first failed attempt to land the job (I'm just terrible with names you see) some of the interface was buggy on the second run through (Couldn't bring up the watch and store words went partially off the top of the screen). This didn't hamper my game play though and I enjoyed the interview process!

Finally, my dream has come true! I've always wanted to work for a Nappy company...

This whole game was very relatable! I liked how you randomised the elements if you screwed up again - good old Mum finding all these jobs.

Even though each attempt was a little short, there was a sense of progression everytime I tried to keep on playing until I completed it. I genuinely got up and went "YUSH" when I got the job.

I wish there could have been more steps! Maybe there could be a section where you have to browse for a job through newspaper ads, and trying to find the actual entrance to the building and not go through the wrong door (I've done that too many times).

I like using a job interview for the "one shot" theme. I like having to research the company beforehand and the use of Wikipedia to make it feel real.

The outfit, transport and time didn't seem to have any effect in getting the job. I couldn't be late even if I walked. Did these choices do anything, or were they just not fully implemented in the 48 hours? The "What Do I Do" and "I Can Do This" button seem to do the same thing?

I liked the graphics and it was generally clear what I needed to do at each stage. I can't score anything for sound as there isn't any.

Nice take on the theme. Some sfx would be good, even if there's no music. I didn't get the money thing, can you run out? I was able to get dressed nicely and even get a taxi (which I didn't know how much it cost me).
