    Very interesting take on the theme, and a cool game overall. It's quite different from you usually see and it's executed pretty well. I like how authentic the window looks (well, for older Windows versions at least) and it's neat having different commands and following a small story. There isn't much interaction - you can only interact at certain points and what you type doesn't matter - but it was still a neat idea.

    That said, I had to give up on the minigame. I presume there's more to the story after you reach the top score (given how the multiplier works the score seems obtainable) but I just found it too frustrating. It gets annoying having to keep mashing the keys to keep your multiplier up and it seems like a crap-shoot whether running into the red enemies will hurt you or them.

    One other thing: If you close the msdos prompt at any point after the second person tells you to enter something into it you get an error. I don't have enough room here to add it but I'm sure you can find it yourself.

    All-in-all, this was really good. Mostly I would've liked to just see a little more interactivity and content, but alas this is a game jam so I understand. I love that the title bar says "Mircosoft" and that the window looks pretty legitimate, at least on 1x zoom. On that note, it's cool that you can change the zoom.

    The minigame was okay. I wish that your move was registered BEFORE the red guys so that moving onto them on the same step that they move won't kill you most of the time. The first time this happened I didn't even understand why I died. I thought it might have even been a scripted death, and was waiting for some kind of message from the tech support lol. After I understood everything to look out for though, it was kind of fun.

      The idea about having your move check for collisions with enemies before the enemies then move is really good. If I ever do anything more with this idea I'll steal that :D

    Heh, I liked the idea, but I felt mostly passive. You don't actually interact much when typing. Although it was rather immersive.

    The mini-game (unexpected btw) on its own is rather frustrating. You don't expect it to move that way cause you mentioned the crystal being the "body" and usually you expect to move the body rather than the head. So moving is very confusing at first cause it seems to turn in a weird way, until you realize you move the head thingy. What's makes it frustrating is that I died often without knowing why at first. Turns out my body, as it lags, got hit by the red enemies as I got "past them". It feels rather unintuitive and since the score stacks up slowly and that the combo meter depletes rather fast, you're constantly moving and that makes it harder to avoid the red enemies that require you to correctly anticipate them. When there are several on the screen, it gets rather difficult to avoid. I would have prefered not needing to protect the body...

      Legit comments. The mini-game is explained badly, so it feels unintuitive due to that. Since it's turn-based though, avoiding red enemies should only get difficult to avoid if you're going really fast. It's supposed to be a balancing act between thinking about your move and avoiding the red enemies, but also going fast enough to keep your score multiplier. I might have balanced it a little too difficult.

    I really like the idea and how it was implemented, can't say I've played many games like this one.

    The storyline was great with a 10/10 plot twist that no one could ever expect, and the game inside the game was also fun.

    Only complaint I have is that now my pc has a virus, I regret nothing though.

    The game was cool, but I reaaaally wanted to just close the windows during the chat. I think it's too long since you can't really chat or have any kind of thing recognized apart from two commands, just read. And you have absolutely no reason to trust any of them (I kinda hate when the "good ending" of a game is just to quit it, but at the same time it's not really taken into account, kinda like superhot).

    Anyways, for the real game, I hated the way the phage was moving when turning and also how red bacteria killed you, since that's like 3 moves instead of 2. On a nitpicking side, what you called the body is the head!!! (and head is tail). I guess it was for clarity but that doesn't change much, so I'm MAD! (not really)

    Sooo, the "real" game was fun to play, I was just expecting more visual effect after getting the million, so I was a little disappointed about that :(

    EDIT: didn't mean to say one was more important, just that the minigame had mechanics, anyway don't pay attention to my "real" :p

      Definitely legit complaints! Most reasons honestly come down to "I only had 48 hours to do everything", as it usually goes with jams 😅

      Personally I'd consider the chat the "real game" though, and coinphage a kind of mini-game, if we need to put them into boxes like that. Most of the effort was put into the chat systems, as I thought that was the most unique part of the experience.

      Had I had another day, or even a half, there would be more things to do in the chat, more "organic" responses instead of fully scripted ones, and coinphage would be explained a lot better.

      One thing that I wanted to do, but absolutely DID NOT have the time to, was add in a savefile system to track how far along in the story you are, as well as whether or not you've beaten coinphage + your score, so that if you were to close the game and open it back up, the people would reconnect to the chat and react to the fact that you were gone, and let you play "endless" mode of coinphage after beating 1 mil. Oh well!

    This was fun! The chat part of the game had some nice plot twists, and I was definitely surprised when the game within the game popped up.

    I really like the concept and how the theme was incorporated in it.

    Finding out that it had a minigame was unexpected but a welcome twist.

    I tried reaching the high score but it seemed too high. It was also kinda confusing at first how the body will orient when changing directions.

    Overall, it was fun. :)

      The key to getting more coins is keeping your combo intact as it directly multiplies the amount of coins you get, and be careful near the red guys that move on every fourth "beat"!

    Nice game, really funny :)

    Minigame is not so hard after you get the main mechanic but it miss sounds and music.

    Really love the immersion on this one, also perfect art style! I tried so hard to get that 1000000 score haha. This is my only complain: The minigame is very exhausting because you have to mash the buttons so hard.

    I found this game very charming! Several of the lines made me smile and I loved the game in a game concept!

    About the mini-game itself I did not manage to beat the high-score yet, and I did find it getting a bit repetitive after a while, but I feel like me being terrible at it was partly to blame.

    The theme was done in a funny way, where the tech supports were pretending to be helpful but were actually harmful!

    Overall I enjoyed the idea behind this entry and the execution of the chat, even though the mini-game itself felt a bit frustrating after a while.

    I love this concept. Great work, just a shame you ran out of time. I admit to several lines of /fart whilst giggling. I like the twist on the theme you used as well as the feel of the game. It actually looks like you are chatting to a real person. Once again great work and I will be sending this link to several people just to see their reaction.

    To put it short this game is fucking amazing. The use of the command prompt and the mini-game that popped up made this game amazing. I felt so immersed as I played talking with the people. I came into it thinking that this game was some lousy last second effort to put a game together but no its amazing. The one thing is lacks is the incorporation of theme.

      The game does totally incorporate the theme, although not strictly mechanically. It was inspired by those annoying scam phone calls you sometimes get from people claiming to want to help you fix your computer, but in reality they are harmful and looking to steal personal information or give you malware or whatever. Which is more or less what is portrayed in the game. Seemingly helpful, but actually harmful! 🙂
