Controller required: A to jump, joystick to aim.

Your goopiness allows you to stick to the walls, but over time it becomes poisonous! Your score is the number of times you are able to complete the level, taking new paths and avoiding dangerous patches of pink slime.

Really neat game! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the GM48 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/po4FqYmf9EQ

Pretty cool idea! I didn't understand at first how the game was relevant with the theme ahah.
Anyways I scored 6! Everything feels pretty good, apart some small angles. Also I really think a mouse option was necessary, like kwis said you shouldn't require people to have a controller to play a jam game.

The dandara movement was really appropriate for this game and I think you pulled it off pretty well (even though the collisions were kinda wonky in some parts).

The idea is probably one of the best interpretations of the theme I've seen so far, too bad the level design didn't let it shine as much as it could have.

Cool idea, and executed pretty well. The game seems easy at first but quickly becomes more challenging as you have to avoid more and more goop. I like how over time you're forced to take different paths and explore more of the level.

The graphics look good and I like how the goop changes color on your next run so it's easy to tell what's dangerous - everything is very clear and sensible. The music is also nice.

There are a couple of issues. First is that the aiming feels a bit more limited than it should be. It's annoying that when you're on the very edge of a corner you're still limited to 180 degrees. The second is the fact that a controller is required - this unfairly prevents people without one from playing. This game would work just as well using the mouse cursor so it doesn't seem necessary.

This is a really goo-d idea and I would love to see it expanded on. I started playing differently after the first run, trying to use awkward routes so that I would have easier ones available.

The controls weren't super responsive (particularly angles), but I imagine the movement system was really tricky to get to the level it was.

One thing that would be really cool to add (although it doesn't fit the theme), is having some of your old goo be randomly selected to heal you (maybe 1 in 10 patches), so that if you can follow your old path, there is an additional reward.

    • avoid forcing the controller. Not every participant owns one (I fortunately do); you should make the game accessible to as much peeople as possible.
    • if your game only works in full screen, always allow the player to quit the game or switch the full screen mode when they desire. (or rather, show somehwere how to do. but it feels counter intuitive to hold a controller and needing to ALT+ENTER to toggle full screen)

That said, the goop doesn't always feel responsive because of his angles, making it sometimes tedious to move. Sometimes you feel like you can move some way but the game won't let you cause you're slightly not in the right angle.

It took me a few times to really get what I was supposed to do which is something I love about JAM games! I also enjoy using a game controller. This was the second time that a game this JAM reminded me of Super Meat Boy which I think is really cool. You will get a 10 for innovation from me for sure because of the fact that I kept wanting to play more and try to complete the level in new spots as to not poison me next go around. Nice work!!

Nice job! The game was pretty fun and I really enjoyed the soundtrack. It is a neat idea and Gooper has some sweet animations I think.

I would've liked to have been able to play with my mouse but the controller felt good to play with regardless.

A recommendation I have is to add the ability to quit the game by pressing some button, escape is usually a nice choice in my opinion.

Overall, good work I think it is an interesting mechanic and kept me playing for a while.

    I scored a 3!
