Atmosphere was top-snotch, although gameplay-wise there wasn't much. But I see where it was headed if given more time, this game was ambitious and fine contestant in this jam. The interpretation of theme was great, the inpending doom which is waiting us in distant future, but the time is running even you don't feel it now.

Art and gui is on point but gameplay needs work as others suggested (totally understandable given the time and I'm glad you went the route of focusing more on the ambience as it looks beautiful so far). Great work!

Neat game! I included it in my GM48: Countdown compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/oApJHC00338

Yeah, like Fachewa, at some point it was just strike and loot then proceed when no other options is available.

Interesting concept and settings! Too bad it lacks some diversity, I like the concept of it.

I like the mood and atmosphere of this game. It has a lot of potential, and the interpretation of countdown as something running out is quite good.

Wow, this is a really unique entry. I'm very impressed with the atmosphere and overworld map art. The ambient background music was very fitting. Gameplay is probably the weakest point here. The menus/GUI were very well done and it all looks really nice.

    Good job on the entry!

Cool game with great graphics. I really liked that the limited view was part of the gameplay, and the general game loop. I'd love to play a full game in the general direction of FTL, and I think the gameplay differs more than enough to make it worth playing. One critique would be, that you maybe run out of coolant a tad too fast.

Atmosphere is great! Got some loot and send it to earth. I'm not sure if I understand the whole game, but as far as i got, I have to attack everthing I can't loot?

I'd go even further than what Veralos said: after a while, I just attacked then loot everything to go faster :D

It's still a good base for a game, and with a few balancing tweaks and some use for the loot it could be a pretty fun game.

Yeahhh I many ambitions - but spent so much time wrestling with HTML5 mouse position detection in an upscaled viewport that I had little time left for actually making a y'know - a game! I realised partway through that I'd be content with a pretty well-established theme and intriguing atmosphere - and some early suggestions of a gameplay system - and that's where I put my focus for this jam.

      Thanks for your feedback!

Neat idea. The visuals and audio works together to create a fantastic sense of atmosphere that really holds the game together. I also enjoyed the flavour of all the different types of locations you can visit and the different types of enemies you can fight.

Unfortunately the actual gameplay is very simple. See an enemy? Fight it and loot it. See a container? Loot it. Like I said though, the atmosphere brings the game together and makes it feel cool and tense even if the play pattern is obvious.

The core of the idea is fun, and I felt that the game overall can be expanded or further worked on for a much bigger title.

I felt that fighting against foes was too easy, and I did not understand what collecting certain materials would result in.

Perhaps if you come back to work on this game, you could make materials looted create far stronger weapons for the player or create terraforming devices which would cooldown the sun a bit more.

Space is a vast place, and I see your game can have much more added to it.

    Great job.

This is really cool. Gameplay is simple but solid. Atmosphere is great. There's a really good system of risk and reward. I don't know if this game is based on another game, but I really like it. My criticism lies in the audio, though. The one song is in mono, not stereo. Also involving audio, it would have felt more rewarding if a song played when you escape earth. Overall, good game!
