Cute game! I included it in my GM48: Collect! compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/QbScIDsTCaU

Managed to collect 30 items with one character
A really unique (and punishing) idea for the theme. Good job with your first entry!

Interesting concept for a game - brave to choose a coop one! Sadly coop games are hard to really test in game jams since you need another person but well done for doing that!
Having an 'encumbered' mechanic is cool, adds a bit of challenge. I found it hard to drop items - pressing num0 didn't seem to do anything? But I wonder if I'm instantly picking the item back up? So it needs a little timer before they're able to be picked up again maybe.
Good job for your first entry!

Neat concept, it's quite an interesting mechanic to limit movement freedom when you're carrying more and I'd be curious to see, in a more heated contest setting, what the best strategy would be - it seems like it might be to sit at the finish flag with the maximum possible items that allow to reach the flag at all (getting over the gap that precedes it) and then perhaps attacking your foe in real life until they relent and drop enough to let you win 😄

Thank you! this is my first game jam and, while it may have a lot of errors, I'm just glad I managed to enter something. I'm hoping to refine the game in the near future too. thank you for playing!

I like the concept that your speed drops as you collect more items. It makes a smart negative feedback loop as the leading player always will drop back. I played this with my little brother and it was quite fun. But there we encountered some design problems.
- Dropping stuff is very hard while standing still. That makes it hard to get up from holes if you fall into one. This could be fixed by letting you throw items.
- If none of the players can reach the flagpole when they get to the end, nobody can win. Because the only way to reach the flagpole is to give away your items. This could be fixed with a timer that ends the game. It would ensure that someone wins. A timer could even replace the goal post.
Otherwise, the art isn't the best, with an exeption for the walking animation which I really like; Some sound would be appreciated; The controls are simple but feel pretty good.

thank you! this is my first game jam, and I had a larger project in mind that I couldn't make work. I'm hoping to take your suggestions and work on the game on my own time.
