You want to die...but for realsies! You have been cursed with the inability to die completely but you hear the only way to get rid of the curse is to complete the Trials of Death. Beware these trials are not for the feint of heart. You must cross dangerous spikes, burning acid, bottomless pits, and salt (yes you heard right). There are also reviving potions scattered about but will they help or hinder your progress? Good Luck!
Arrows to move. Collect key to move on to next level. Profit.....by getting through the last level.

It was nice little game, really simply but it worked. Of course you could have made the screen larger, or ability to change the window size. The movement could have been just bit smaller so it would have been easier to navigate through blocks. The screens for explaining individaul hazards and states would not be good, but just simpler level which introduces these mechanics. The sound effects were funny ^^

Glad you enjoyed! I really wasn't sure what to do once the theme was announced but I'm glad it turned out ok :D

There's a lot of little issues, like the resolution, movement & collision, but the main idea is pretty good. You've got limited objects but the core interactions are interesting.
About the hazard list thing: it's way better without it, let the player discover the rules by themselves, especially since there's not that many different things. I think here the issue is the way you introduce pitfalls and salt at the same time. It's not that complicated, but you get levels with just holes after that. Also I think you introduce all you mechanics too soon, so later levels became less interesting.

Thanks for the feedback. In hindsight I should have done a little more research on Game Maker Studio 2 before I started this game jam for the little stuff. It honestly took me hours to finally get the collisions and movement mostly correct. Still every jam I do is a learning experience :)

Interesting game concept, but I think you had some issues with collision masks as well as sometimes the character locks up as it interacts with objects that changes its forms. The sounds are glitchy and have a problem when they repeat. Also id say most of the levels are designed well except the last one where you don't have to think you just follow the main path. The only other issue is you picked a small resolution so some of the graphics aren't displayed properly.
However I did like the game it was an interesting concept and had good game mechanics. Well done I like how your approached the theme.

Thanks for the feedback. This was my first game using Game Maker 2 so I'm not quite used to the changes. As for the locking objects, even after shrinking the hit box, they kept getting stuck at certain points. I'm still a novice at Game Maker 2 but I hope to eventually get better :).

The puzzles in this game were pretty good. I think if the mechanics were introduced more slowly it would have been more understandable.

Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to originally add an extra screen that listed all the hazards and what they did but because I had the trial version for most of this jam I could only work with five rooms. By the time I realized we got a temporary full version I had to throw something together as soon as I could.
