Grandma Madeline somehow got roped into the world of gachapon. With her pension and savings all empty, she has few options to make money. So she decided to live in the wild and make money off of the nearby critters to feed into her gambling addi--I mean her surprise mechanic affliction.

Funny idea! I included it in my GM48: Collect! compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/yIsOdyc3NkA

Pretty unfinished but still kinda fun. I'm a little sad for all those poor cows tho. And the bottom right of the map is pretty brutal ahah.
That being said, the menu felt unnecessarily confusing. Like J & K for confirming and going back is so arbitrary, when you also interact with E. And Escape just quits the game. Also the gacha list was vertical which confused me because there was no arrows. It's small things but that felt really weird, and a little prompt in the corner would have fixed all that.

I think this game takes the cake for having the most interesting title, haha! I like the open-endedness, you have the freedom to just roam around wherever you want to. I felt really bad about killing the poor cows, so I mostly let them live and hunted down monsters instead.
I think one thing that could have been expanded on would be playing up the collecting theme a bit. Getting all the gachas is funny, but collecting coins is just having a number go up when you kill enemies. If coins fell on the floor and you picked them up, I think it would feel more true to a collecting styled game.

I love the idea of a pensioner getting really into some stupid hobby like gachapon. My friends and I have joked about what we'd do at that age, and I could easily imagine that being me lol.
The controls were kinda janky, but nowhere near bad enough to deter me from playing the game until I had collected every dancing dude. Could've used a bit of music, but pretty good for a first jam game!

Slightly unfinished art but as a whole it still fit together quite nicely. Strangely relaxing game considering you're out there fighting things for money - the use of a safe space to retreat to removed most of the threat so you could sit back and relax and play, which was nice.
The monsters themselves were varied enough - the red things were sometimes tough to beat since you can't really run away from them that easily, so that added a bit of challenge in!
Good job on your first entry :)

A neat little use of a few minutes. I collected every dancing man I could. Art is charming but not necessarily great. Fighting things was easy and engaging enough, though to kill the krackens(?) I found it easiest to get them stuck in bushes. Not sure if that is intentional or not.
Nice work!

While the art is unfinished it is heading in the right direction and isn't unpleasant to look at. The main loop was entertaining. Each monster had a quirk that was enough to make them feel distinct and interesting to combat. I only needed to drive all life to extinction but I finally got the mythical headless dancing dude @@@@@ so I am satisfied.
Nice entry! Welcome to the gm48!

I'm a bit surprised by this one. I've been wanting to see what a gacha game would be like if made in a jam, and it's finally time! The first thing I noticed was that there isn't much of a visual indicator for... anything. Aside from the arrows, which were a nice touch. I was unsure of how the gameplay worked, because there is no animation to show that defeating the animals gave the granny money. But once I figured it out, I got attached to the gameplay loop. There's something satisfying about a safe space where you can have a gallery of collectibles, and roaming around in a zelda-like style to get more of that sweet gacha money. I think that the art, while in need of polish, had a pleasant style. It reminded me slightly of Chicory, the game being directed by Wandersong's director. I think some non-distracting background music and sounds would have elevated the experience a bit. This might be a good game to keep working on post-jam! I had fun with it ~
