Controls: Arrows/WSAD, Esc to exit game, R to restart

You can move from one edge of the screen to another quickly, by swimming out of bounds (away from the game's screen)

Avoid sharks! They will hurt you a lot, most of the time killing you.

Collect these air bubbles, so you can last a bit longer, but not the green ones, they are poisonous (so I heard...), also... who knows what else you might find there.

PS. I forgot to implement a pause menu.

Interesting game! I included it in my GM48: Collect! compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/bAl5VC2b78w

I really love games styled off old arcade games, so this was a pleasant little experience. I think what other people are saying about randomness is true, but I think you could alleviate the struggles of trying to play a game with random object placement by giving the player more time to react. Congrats on submitting after only a month of Game Maker! Hope it helped you learn more about the software :)

Fun little game! I like the idea of collecting air bubbles. Sharks feel pretty random though.

Neat, simple little arcade game. Seemed very random where the bubbles and sharks(?) would spawn but I was able to survive for a bit and collect quite a few bubbles. Nothing to write home about, but it was a fun casual game.

It's a fun little game! It's simple, but you have incorporated multiple gameplay elements to make it feel like a full experience. The sharks are a little bit too fast, I think, but they keep you on your toes and make the game more hectic than just calmly travelling from one bubble to the next.

Audio is the weak point for sure, since the music loop is very short and repetitive, and there's not too much auditory feedback on stuff. Like, the sharks could maybe have a chomp sound when they hit you, and maybe the bubbles can have a very soft sound when they spawn to signal to the player to look for new bubbles.

Thanks for the feedback! More sound effects is something I should've done and I will surely remember for my future projects. That music I called "Annoying Tune" and it was basically last minute addition... As for the sharks, yeah, they are too fast, I agree. Again, thanks for trying it out :)

Pretty good considering you've only used GM for a month, nice done!

Took a few attempts to get used to it, since the meter starts dropping immediately, and those sharks move so damn fast! It really just comes down to luck if you'll die or not.

Longest run I had was 129 seconds

Thanks for playing it! I was considering if I should make it more dangerous (faster), but on random positions or maybe a bit slower, but chasing the player... ran out of time, sadly, besides - like I said, my first kinda game and participating in this game jam was a very cool experience that surely increased my skills :) edit: 129 seconds is wild!

Remarkably frantic little game! The quickly dwindling oxygen meter and the extremely fast sharks meant that, despite being simple, this was quite entertaining, so nice work 😄
