Summary

Splash'Em presents an interesting and creative concept centered around color mechanics, which many players found engaging. However, several users noted that the controls and shooting mechanics are unintuitive and sometimes buggy, making gameplay frustrating. The difficulty level was also mentioned as being too high early on, detracting from the experience. Some players suggested improvements like clearer color change indicators and alternative control schemes. Despite these issues, the game was still enjoyed by some and received positive recognition in community compilations.

Neat idea! I included it in my GM48: Colors are Important compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/qBo44ANf_gg

I like the idea but the controls hold it back a little bit. I would prefer if you aim with the cursor and shoot and switch colors with the two mouse buttons.

Wait... how do you play this game again? All I could do is shoot paintballs into walls and enemies, which did absolutely nothing.

Really interesting idea, but it's way too hard.

First, you have to think about what color use against each enemy, since you need to mix the right color.

Then you need to master the controls, switching colors isn't that easy but it's ok, but the way the character shoots is a pain. Turning back to shoot is already making everything harder than it should, but there's also a "bug", where if you go in diagonals, even after you let up or down go and continue left or right, the character won't switch direction. So you have to stop or move in another direction before aiming...

Adding all that and the enemy speed that doesn't let you breathe, and the game get too hard too fast, and not really for the good reasons :(

The concept is really good, but the execution is not the best. I think it would be a good idea to make the color change have a timer so you know when it will happen. Also, I couldn't figure out what color to shoot at enemies that had already been hit by the wrong color. I still really enjoyed playing the game though!
