Summary

Players found The Enlightenment to have a fun concept with appealing visual and sound effects. However, the game was generally considered too easy and somewhat repetitive, reducing the challenge and engagement. Some feedback suggested improving player visibility and adding hazards or mechanics to increase difficulty and variety. Overall, the game was well-made for a 48-hour jam but could benefit from enhanced balance and clarity.

Hi, the fire effect was nice, but the player body could be more easily detectable. Remember this on later games you make, player should know well where his avatar is :) As others have said, game was easy, Baku summed up it well: "Oh, I guess I win?". Something could have been done to make game harder, balance the things out. Maybe firefighters extinguishing the burning followers? Gotta burn those first, so they cannot do their job ^^ But these jams have time limit, so maybe you didn't have time to make something you envisioned, which I don't know.

Neat fire effects! I included it in my GM48: Countdown compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/MHzNKYCzwks

Not so bad, but a bit repetitive. Probably too easy.

I agree it's a bit too easy. To add something that can harm you except the timer could be a good idea. That could also make it more varied. It is kinda repetitive as it is now.

But apart from that, I think you have done pretty well in 48 hours. The particle effects are cool, you got some sound effects and a background noise that fits the theme, the art and animation are also decent and I didn't find any bugs or uncomfortable controls at all!

    "Fun" idea!

I feel like it's a little too easy? Got 50 souls with a good chunk of time to spare, and was like "oh, I guess I win?"

Also slightly difficult to see where you are, when your particle body blends in with all the fire you are shooting, but then again it doesn't really matter when you easily win anyway :S
