Dementor's Lament
Controls:
Movement: Left/Right Arrow Keys
Cast Spell: "Z" Key
Jump: Space Bar
You can also cast upwards by holding the Up key when casting!
In "Dementor's Lament", you play as the amateur sorcerer, Gif (because that's how it's pronouced), who has found himself lost in a cavernous dungeon full of traps and treachery. Using the only spell he knows, you must help guide the apprentice spellcaster to safety, or risk eternity in the depths of spike pits and ghost bellies.
"Dementor's Lament" is comprised of four levels complete with various puzzles requiring the expert use of your hand missiles. Can you escape the dungeon?

Neat platformer! I included it in my GM48: One Tool, Many Uses compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/xLRwFoQlSuM

Very nice game, I didn't expect too much because the artstyle was so simple, but the level design was pretty good. Nothing new, but well executed overall.

Moving a bit too slow, but not bad. The game got a bit boring later on when all zou do is shoot crzstals and go on platforms >&
This was me trying to write with an english keyboard layout cause i forgot to deactivate it. Replace the z by y, and the ">&" was me trying to write ":/". I'd like it if you could propose other types of controls, zxc might be a classic but for people like me it's very annoying. (the "y" and "z" keys are reversed)
Please avoid that zxc convention. :( Though I'm fine with x and c

This was a really nice game - Lone and I (we're playing together) were really impressed by the game and level design. You are utilizing only a few mechanics, but you use them to great extend, and introduced new things following a nice learning curve.
Great job guys!

Hey, thanks for playing! Really appreciate it. DillonSemaj and I are both still really new to game design in practice, so I'm glad you enjoyed what we were able to do! Hopefully we'll be able to make something greater by the next gm48.

Thanks again

Short and simple but sweet, enjoyed this game. Didn't run into any bugs either, which has been a rare occurrence in the game jam so far.
I think the best places to improve would be adding a little bit more to the list of what the spell can do as the game goes on to fit the theme. I also would like to see more story of some sort in the game.
Good job with this one.

Hey, thanks a lot for playing! Really glad you enjoyed it. I'm glad you didn't run into any bugs, I know of one that you could have, but it isn't game breaking so I kept putting off fixing it till it was too late, like a fool.
DillonSemaj and I really like what we came up with, so we're for sure going to be expanding on this project for the future!
