This game fits the theme with the "Special bullets" as they can be used to kill enemies in one hit or restore health to your base.
I had fun making this game and learnt alot about making games, so I'm pretty happy with my experience in this competition.
Controls: The Controls are: WASD to move Left mouse button to shoot bullets. Right mouse button press to shoot "Special bullets". Press R to restart the game Press Escape to quit the game

Neat game. I included it in my GM48: One Tool, Many Uses compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/CSolNVWY9mU

Yeah I agree with Fachewachewa there, it's not very useful to use it as a weapon :T

This is a basic game indeed but it works pretty well. One thing I would have liked is a little more work on the visual side of the HUD.
It's not very intuitive to parse through the paragraph to find how many bullets you have of how much life the base had left. Also, the fact that the base in on top leads to more repetition, since enemies will always be in the same spot. Have the base in the middle could help with that.
Special bullets were a good idea, but I would have like more impact on the visual side, to make it more special and maybe motivate us to use it as a weapon instead of just healing (which seems to be the best strat here)

Yeah, I made a misstep with special bullets being used as weapons. Initially enemies had 4 health so it being used as a weapon was pretty crucial to winning, but it just became too difficult to finish, so one of the things I changed to make it easier was to reduce the health of enemies

Bit hard. Would have loved to see some variety of enemies or maybe different enemy behavior. Always coming from the same spot and attacking the base from the same range got repetitive pretty quick. Also the player moves really fast. About half as fast I think would have been better. And not really sure how the theme fits in (guessing the tool is the gun that shoots multiple kinds of bullets?)
Otherwise really stable and a solid entry. And extra kudos for having sounds!

At first I didn't know how to use the special bullets. You should put the controls in your description to help other people know that "right click" is the special bullets.
At first I could only get to wave 14 even when I learned to use the special bullets. It was too hard to heal your base in the midst of all the ships attacking, and they weren't helpful enough as a weapon. Then I realized you can kill all but one ship, pick up all the special bullets, and then heal your base with all the bullets before killing the last enemy and starting the next round. With this strategy I beat all 20 waves with 60 hp to spare. I'm not sure if I discovered an exploit here or if this was how I was supposed to do it, since I couldn't win the other way.
I think this could be alleviated by adding a timer that takes a few moments before the next round starts, but letting the player start it early if they are ready (like a lot of tower defense games do), since that way you have time to heal more intuitively.
Pretty fun!

That's actually a good idea. Putting in a timer for the waves so that you would have time to shoot the special bullets. The exploit that you mention was never something I saw as an exploit, as i did that myself. You can win without the exploit, but it takes some time getting used to the game. I will add the controls to the description. Thanks for the feedback and playing my game I hope you enjoyed it

I enjoyed playing it. Seems a bit difficult, but if it's just one level then difficulty makes sense, although I can only make it to round 14. I Like the sound effects, they fit in nicely with the style the game is going for. Not sure what else there is to say, besides that the special bullets are a great idea, although I think they should heal the base a little bit more.
