Controls: W/A/S/D - move

Space - pickup/throw little bud (green circle)

Mouse - Aim when throwing

Shift - Sprint while not holding little bud

Goal: Get to the finish line while carrying little bud.

Mechanics: If little bud or big bud get shot, you lose. While little bud is mid-air after being thrown, he can deflect bullets.

    Definitely a bit too difficult (although this is mostly due to the fact that you completely restart if you die), but I'm a fan of the concept. I played it for about 30 minutes and I'd say I enjoyed it. The collision definitely could use some work though, as it's annoying to get stuck on walls when there are enemies shooting at you. Overall not bad, it could use some polish though.

      Thank you so much for your response! This was my first game jam I did alone and didn't plan very well. Also, I agree that the game as a whole was very unpolished. Hopefully next time I'll be able to release a more finished prototype.

    The concept was really promising, but sadly the fact that you respawn the player to the start of the game totally kills it.

    I liked your approach to the theme, probably one of the better ways to make an escort game out of it, it still looked really unpolished tho, and the level design wasn't too good either.

    You could've made a great prototype out of this but stuff like polish and difficulty balance is essential for a good experience, and you totally missed it.

      Thanks for the feedback! I was hoping to polish the game a lot more, but it took me longer than expected to come up with an idea, leaving me with little time to implement it. I ended up making the game too hard due to the fact that I didn't have to time to implement spawn points (I did after I submitted it though), and had to quickly create levels. I was hoping to add small areas that only little bud could fit into that would have buttons, and other kinds of puzzles as well.

    Needs checkpoints! Died on the second level and had to restart the whole game. And it's also really tough, took me many tries to beat the first level.

    I think the idea of throwing bud, sprinting to him, and then moving forward is really strong, it's just kind of hard to pull off as it is. One thing you could try to make it easier is to remove the sprint button, and just make Big Bud move automatically faster when he's not holding little bud to simplify it (since you need both to beat the level anyways). And maybe instead of space you could try left click to pick up/throw little bud, since you already have to use the mouse to aim.

    It's a good start though with the mechanics! With some more work this could become a fun game.

    P.S. Is there a way to defeat the gun guys or do you just have to avoid them? Deflecting their bullets with little bud never seems to quite send them back at them so I don't know if that works or not.

      Sorry for not responding! Thank you so much for the feedback! I agree that the game needs checkpoints, my friend that I had test it said exactly that. Unfortunately, I ran out of time and had to upload the game before I added checkpoints.

      P.S. Response: There is no way to defeat the gun guys atm. I thought it would be too easy it little bud could kill them. However, I love the idea of using their own bullets against them!

Had a great time, but I spent too much time thinking about what to make. Didn't end up adding all the features I wanted to, so it doesn't work great with the theme. In the end though, it's all about the fun of making it!
