Planet-sized sentient crystals are barreling towards the Earth, use the newly converted railgun fitted to the moon to destroy the crystals before they reach the crust. Research upgrades, build defense stations and construct buildings using energy and minerals harvested from the enemies you destroy. If even a few crystals reach the Earth, the planet is doomed.

Controls: Aim: Mouse Shoot: Left Click Purchase: Left Click Sell (Buildings): Right Click Open Menu: Click the Earth Place Turrets: E Place Slowers: Q Remove Tool: R

This is my first GM48, I had a lot of stuff I didn't get to, but I think it turned out okay. Just to note, the audio may be buggy so turn your audio down at first, and some of the research system is inconsistent. I'll probably finish up the project and clean it up, I wish I got to making some more sprites, animations and effects. Thanks, Have fun.

I made it to wave 15 and no more enemies seemed to come. I guess I won? Anyway, I really enjoyed this game. Just shooting away the crystals was fun but being able to strategise and place turrets and such made it a lot more interesting. I was a bit disappointed by the building limits though. Why can't I have an army of fifty turrets?! Anyway, the graphics look nice (though the blue crystals look a bit too similar to the pickups) and the music is good.

This was a pleasent surprise! Fairly simple game but clearly has some time put into the upgrades and things. Buying the turrets didn't seem to do anything (never mind - just read the description, I see I had to actually place them, oops). I got to wave 10 before stopping as I had everything researched (apart from the top right one since I didn't seem able to click that) and everything bought that I could. I like the idea of buying buildings and also researching things at the same time - it adds a few extra levels of depth. Could expand this into a visually rewarding game - keep the gameplay fairly simple, but make it pop. Could be an idle game!

I got to wave 12, I didn't know how to buy stuff at first and was panicking in wave 8 as I almost lost there as I didn't have any turrets or slowers. Had to quickly in read instructions before next wave :D It was nice game. Maybe resources should have left to float around, as in space there is no friction. This would have added new gameplay element there to collect them vefore they drift outside the screen (though slowly). But well done for first GM48 game :)

Made it to wave 13. Pretty fun tower defence game!

By wave 8 I found myself having more resources than I could ever spend, so I feel having more resource sinks could have been good. Also descriptions as to what each research does would have been nice (even though you can kinda imagine by the name, I was never really sure what I was researching).

Kept me entertained for the duration, let me know if there is an end, if there is I'll give it another shot and try to beat it! :D

I'm unfortunately not able to play, as I'm getting this error whenever I click:

############################################################################################ FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Draw Event for object obj_earth:

instance_create_layer :: specified layer "GUI" does not exist at gml_Object_obj_earth_Draw_64 ############################################################################################

I like a lot of the systems in there, though I think the pace of the game is a bit too slow, and the lack of a background and very short music loop also dampens the engagement levels. It would also be helpful if there was a keybinding to close the menu, as having to click that tiny little button in the corner whenever a wave starts was a challenge unto itself :P

There was clearly some care put into the different upgrades and limitations, and what I was able to see of them was pretty fun, so good job all in all!

I think that adding more types of enemy and maybe other things to focus on could make this game a lot more interesting. Currently, the only decision you have to make is, "which enemy do I shoot first?" and it's obviously the one closest to you. It's not a very interesting decision.

Secondly, I would add some feedback and disable shooting when you're in the menu. At first, I didn't even realize that I was buying stuff.

Jonas Tyroller has a good video on decisions: https://youtu.be/J_qQ76ouWXI

Thanks! I had a few enemy types, but I think I had them come in too far apart to keep the player interested.
