An homage to that one scene in Oldboy. You know the one. Swing your trusty hammer to smite your foes! Collect their teeth for good health! Get that vengeance before the vengeance gets you!

Controls:

Aim and swing with the mouse;

Press the left mouse button to hammer;

Press A to move left;

Press D to move right;

Press S to crouch and pick up teeth!

P.S. I'm really sorry about uploading an installer rather than a single runtime executable. It was a foolish, foolish rookie mistake, and it will not happen by me again.

    Very interesting game! I included it in my GM48: One Tool, Many Uses compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/le9JcWgAZag

      Wow, thank you! Sorry it took me so long to reply. Just saw this as I was going to upload for the next jam. Thanks so much and I can't wait to watch!

    Love the flying teeth idea. Not sure what they do though (Is it a point multiplier? Can you throw them?). Also there seems to be only one way to kill them without dying yourself, and that is perpetually moving backwards while flailing in every direction.

    I'm a sucker for derpy art sort of games. So if you had made the enemies one-hit-kill, sent progressively more of them, and added some dope techno loop music, (and maybe some blood, if that's your thing) I would have been all about this. But as is, solid entry that with a bit of tweaking could have been great.

    P.S. Oh yeah, and the installer thing. But you already mentioned that so we're cool :)

      Hey, thanks so much! The teeth give you a little health, and it's kind of an additional collectible, but it's really costly to hang around and try to pick them up, because then more dudes are coming your way. And you sorta pick em up with your butt, which was unintended, but fit with the bad marionette antics I was shooting for.

      We're on the same page, and a dope techno loop would have really tied it together and taken it to the next level. Next time!

    So uh hey, it has been said already but it's something I wanna make sure as much people get; never

    ever

    use installers for a game jam

    EDIT: Not bad, though it's kinda brainless how enemies just keep coming, kinda feels repetitive; i like the teeth idea but it feels kinda slow and in that case not sure what the multiple uses are. it's nice that you got that kind of "white grab" animation when an enemy grabs on you

      I hear you, and I'm sorry. Thank you for pointing it out, and thank you so much for putting in all that effort to review every game. By the time I was informed of my error, it was too late to upload a new file. I accept my fate, and hope only that I will be able to do better next time.

    Pros: It's interesting to knock people's teeth out and collect them. The basic premise is definitely good and something that could be expanded upon. The physics of the characters and how they are made of pieces is interesting.

    Cons: I couldn't figure out any efficient way to kill the enemies, so it seemed like just moving forward and flailing randomly was the solution that got me the furthest. The sound effects were very loud.

    I think if there was some way to make them go flying when you hit them with the hammer depending on the force you use it would feel a lot better, but I realize that would be a lot harder to code.

    Highscore: 214 feet with three teeth collected

      Thanks for playing, and thanks so much for the feedback! Pretty much in total agreement and intending some future updates. Also, apologies for the loud sounds. That's an area that definitely has some... room for growth. Thanks again!

    Don't compile as an installer, its very annoying. Other than that, easily the best game in the jam. Really like your use of animation techniques, sound design and inverse kinematics.

      Oh wow, thank you!

      I was afraid I've been doing my compiling all wrong... and so I just looked up how to make a single runtime executable like everybody else seems to have done, and it's embarrassingly simple. Well, now I know for next time! Thanks for the feedback!
