DESCRIPTION

The zombie apocalypse is here, and the only ones who can stop it are you and your dog! But mostly just your dog.

You have no weapons yourself and can only run around to avoid being bitten. But you can shout out commands to your faithful companion - "come", "heel", "dig", "run" - to get your dog to move around the arena and dig up graves to find power-ups.

Your dog is also equipped with a giant cannon! Aiming and firing this weapon is not as easy as it seems, and accidentally shooting yourself is just as dangerous as a zombie's bite!

!!! WARNING !!! The game does contain lots of exploding zombies, limbs, and general bloody mayhem.

HEALTH

At the top of the screen is your health bar. Shooting yourself or being bitten reduces your health. A zombie's bite will also infect you, filling up the bar from the left with green.

If you run out of health, you explode. If your infection level reaches your current HP, you get zombified.

POWER UPS

Some zombies leave behind gravestones. Commanding your companion to "dig" will cause your dog to run to the nearest tombstone and dig it up, revealing a random power-up. All power-ups last 10 seconds.

  • Shotgun { fire three shots at once }
  • Serum { gain resistance to the zombie infection }
  • Auto-aim { the cannon now aims at the enemy nearest to the doggo }
  • Health Pack { heals 10 HP }
CONTROLS

Use of a gamepad is recommended! Holding down on the commands like "COME" will increase the radius in which the dog will hear you.

Gamepad controls:

  • Move = left control stick
  • Start = start
  • Exit = esc
  • "COME" = A
  • "RUN" = B
  • "DIG" = X
  • "HEEL" = Y

Keyboard controls:

  • Move = arrow keys
  • Start = enter
  • Exit = esc
  • "COME" = S
  • "RUN" = D
  • "DIG" = A

    • Controls are confusing. It's pretty hard to get to do what you want to do, as it's difficult to exactly predict where the dog will shoot. He sees to shoot at your direction and the direction you move to. Are we supposed to bring the zombies between him and us? Either way, it feels unpredictable and I kept shooting at myself, which was frustrating
    • I'm not sure to understand what the commands are for. What does Heel do? I first assumed it was a typo on heal, but you spell it heel everyhwere and it doesn't seem to have any effect. It's also difficult to tell how useful and effective these actions are as they don't seem to benefit you greatly. Again, because it's confusing and complex.

    That said, the game is incredibly juicy! Everything has the perfect amount of feedback. Everything looks and feel good! The zombies look goofy when they bite on you and even though I hate that the dog can damage you, it still felt fun to do so.

    I also especially love the way the dog moves and is animated. That tail wag and happy face really, really sells it. We can feel the immense joy of the dog and the fact that you taped a gun on his back feels pretty out of there and brillant. Great design choices on that domain!

    Hey, did you notice that in the menu, the D was at the bottom and the S on the right?

    Aaaaanyway, I loved the art and slpashy particles effects in this game. Similarly to JealousCrow, I still didn't quite understand what the dog commands were for, but nevertheless, I had a great time. I only wish for a bigger or randomized arena.

    This was fun dude, nice job! Controls were tough to understand at first and I am still not sure I understood what all the dog commands were doing, but I had a good time!

    Loved it. Nice graphics, good sound. The controls can be a bit tricky, but once you get used to them it's not so bad. I used keyboard btw. :)

    Is the game supposed to be 100x100 in size? I can't tell what's going, I can't read anything...it's just not playable like that in my opinion. Missed out on what seems like it could be a fun game.

      It should be 272x192, unless you weren't being literal, haha. I agree about the screen size, I've thought about adding a second player, a few more zombies, and a bigger map / screen to play on.
