Very nice game! I included it in my GM48: Collect! compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/7cH9DVFtgzM

At first this game felt like annoying busywork (and I mean, I guess it is), and it was quite confusing trying to find all the different items. I finished day 1 with only 1 second left, it was a very tight race!! Subsequent days became a bit easier as I got used to the item variety and layout of the store, and the game became a lot more fun as well, trying to speedrun around the different isles, trying to pick up all items in each "area" before moving on. After a while it finally dawned on me that there was reasoning behind item placement - it's a supermarket after all lol, and the way I was trying to optimise my route mirrored the way I do it in real life. Neat!

That was pretty fun! It's a bit overwhelming at first, since there's so many items to keep track of, and I'm not personally fan of the restocking system, but overall the idea is really cool; would love to see more

Thanks for the feedback. Definitely had a harsh starting point which we will seek to rectify in the expansion of the game. The restocking system wasn't something that we were hugely keen on either, it existed as more of a safety feature so the player wasn't stuck with no stock on the shelf. Glad you liked the idea, there will definitely be more to this sometime in the future!

This was a simple concept that I felt you executed very well. I was happy to see that items got misplaced and shuffled over time leaving you to really wonder who stocked the shelves this morning? It was probably Tim... Hes always making mistakes... That was a really immersive moment that also served a solid game purpose.

I would encourage thinking about the feedback the player should get from something like restocking as there was no sound or visual that indicated what was going on so I didn't really have a clue how it worked until I started spamming the buttons.

This really got me into the mindset of a supermarket worker attempting to optimize my route as I became more familiar with the locations of items. Excellent job on this jam!

Tim is definitely getting written up after his performance towards the end of that week.

The restocking button proved difficult in the implementation stage and ended up more being an insurance policy to make sure there was always stock available rather than a proper mechanic in that specific form so it has proved to be an under cooked element of the game.

Glad you got immersed into the world of a supermarket worker. Thanks for playing!

Nice game! Sometimes it was hard to know what was clickable, so I would just start clicking everything. It would be nice if there was some indication on where to find the required items.

Thanks! If we expand upon this game we will consider implementing something to help indicate where the items are to help as a few people have commented having difficulty with finding where stuff was now.

I loved the variety of items and the art. Movement was solid and clicking items was mostly hassle free. The store becoming untidy and disorganized was a great touch. Made it all the way to Thursday before I failed after having to restock twice. Great use of the theme, nice level design, and great little game over all!

I liked it, gets pretty old pretty fast with so many items to start with. I found that I had to wander around and find stuff and backtrack. Perhaps to help with that you could do a bejeweled style hint system... where after a long time a subtle visual queue helps lead the player in the right direction.

If you had to start over how would you approach making this game? Would you break it up into multiple sections and perhaps start the game in the produce section, then you gain more and more responsibility over the store? Currently it feels punishing right off the bat, and in the first level it might help to make it an easier win, then players will have a bit more drive to keep playing.

I could see this being taken to a slightly different spot... I use to work in a grocery store and it always annoyed me how sloppy and inconsiderate customers were. I would have a huge rolling cart of bread next to me, and people wouldn't take the bread from the cart. They would wait for me to put it on the shelf, then take that exact loaf of bread. Drove me nuts for some reason...

What if this was a 4 player team coop game, where half the players are restocking and reordering the store, perhaps filling online orders for bonuses... and the other 2 players are unruly customers searching for coupons and deals on the shelves?

Thanks for the feedback, I like the more purpose driven approach to make us really consider the different elements to the project.

Originally we were potentially thinking of implementing a night phase where you would manually restock what you wanted which I think would've slightly alleviated the difficulty in finding different items since you could order the store how you wanted it but we ran out of time in the end to properly implement it, while still accounting for the possibility of running out of items during the day.

Upon reflection I would've liked to split up the orders into the different departments and to make it less punishing on the first day but the way I coded the lists probably didn't allow for easy implementation of that in the short timeframe. Another idea we had would've been to add different jobs throughout the store such as clean ups and helping on the registers to break the repetitive formula the game inherently has.

We are potentially thinking of expanding on this concept in the future to properly introduce all of our different ideas and make a full-blown overcooked-style game so we may take some of your ideas ;)

      Thanks again!

Excellent! I can only assume the rage I felt towards the messy and oblivious shoppers near the end reflects that which real grocery workers experience every day. Other than the restock buttons not being very clear, my only note would be that the item grab range is also not very clear. You can take the produce when far away above it, but not when you are standing as close as possible below it. Great work.

This was super fun to play! I failed a bunch when I was still learning the layout of the store, but eventually beat it! I love the graphics and the controls are good. The main thing I had a problem with was the re-stock buttons, most of the time I couldn't tell if I was actually clicking them or not.

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you were able to beat the game. The restock buttons certainly caused me some issues so it doesn't surprise me too much they aren't working fully as intended.

I quite enjoyed this one, the cutesy pixel art style and sound worked well and the challenge ramps up the more you play. My only criticism is that the re-stock buttons can be a bit fiddly. Other than that though, brilliant game! :)

Thanks for the feedback! Was having trouble the entire time with the buttons and ensuring only one was pressed for any one click so they ended up a bit more fiddly than I would've liked.
