PLEASE LEAVE US FEED BACK, WE ARE LOOKING TO IMPROVE. Thanks!
The galaxy space complex was destroyed a few hours ago, word is quickly spreading about the amount of debris, or space junk spreading. Wanting to help, you quickly find a recruitment center, and take a job to start collecting.
Unbeknownst to you, it turns out you were hired by a group of violent mercenaries from space who are trying to pillage the galaxy space complex ruins. Turns out the only thing you will be collecting for them are their precious "human resources"; because they need more humans. This sounds like a horrible deal, but they pay is good, and you get to keep whatever else you come across.
Fight your way through 3 minutes of a seemingly endless onslaught of adversaries, collecting powerups and human resources, and then defeat the galaxy space complex guardian to win! IF YOU DARE.

Neat game. I included it in my GM48: Collect! compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/AJIXJbuzz8E

Pretty good shmup! If I had to give some constructive criticism, I'd say the majority of the game is too easy (you're never dropping below max HP, maybe losing a bit of shield at worst)... until the boss arrives. The boss is an insane bullet sponge. I tried a few times, and every time I'd get the boss down to maybe 5-10%, and then all of my attack upgrades would disappear, making my progress drop to essentially zero - certainly not enough to out-dps the boss, who at this point would be a good way through my shield and starting to hurt my HP as well. So I never beat the boss :(
The sound effects also become pretty annoying a bit into the game, especially at the boss

Super classic arcade feel, I like how there's many patterns for enemy ships to move in instead of just dropping in from above. It doesn't feel like anything's unfinished, pretty much a complete product of a game.
I think the audio mixing could be better, the game's music becomes pretty much completely inaudible after one or two attack upgrades since the bullet sound is much louder.

I completely agree with the sound. When loading the sounds into GMS2 freshly exported from bfxr, I brought their volume down to 20-30%. One of the many last minute tweaks I would've made if there was just a little bit more time. We'll spend some more time with sounds on our next go round =D

Enjoyed this more than the average bullet hell/space shooting game thanks to the generosity of the health/shields 😄 Unfortunately I did then become unstuck once the boss knocked me back down to single barrelled weaponry - I feel like maybe both my ship and the boss ship could have done with being more powerful, as this fight ended up taking forever. And I lost xD
Really nice work!

Thanks for giving a go and leaving us your feedback!
The boss fight was a casualty of time, I threw it together in the last hour or 2, many loose ends with it. I wanted to add 2 other attacks for variety, I wanted to add in periodic powerups throughout the fight, and perhaps adjust his health thresholds. Additional sounds, popup graphics when he moves to the next phase, etc. He is beatable, but I agree it could've been much more fun.

I love the art here. The big explosions with the fun font whenever you get a power-up feels great. Other than that, seems very classic shoot-em-up, from the art to the sound design. I forgot there was a boss and didn't get to the finish. Apologies. After a while, it does start to get a little boring. I'm also not quite sure what the sphere things the enemies drop are for.
TLDR; Great graphics, classic feel in the sounds + art, little on the boring side.

Wow - that was really intense - I really liked the feeling up increasing power as you collected more of the little orbiting shootyfriends - the sound and the graphics really contributed to that heck yes I'm putting out a lot of bullets feeling.
Just as it felt like I was totally unstoppable the boss came and I was like okay bring it on - then the challenge became about dodging and shooting at the same time, trying to keep the boss either directly above, or in the 45 degree line that your bullets shoot when you move to the side - and not in that dead zone in between.
I haven't played a lot of shoot 'em ups before (so I don't know if this is an established mechanic), but the angled shooting when you moving sideways seem to add a lot of richness to the game, like either you can stand your ground and fire bullets straight at your foe and then quickly dodge at the last minute to avoid theirs, or you can try to pick them off from the side with your angled shots, making sure you move in such a way that your bullets hit them but not so that you collide with other bullets or ships on the screen. And you're constantly switching between these two ways of aiming/shooting.
The boss was really dramatic - the sound design when you're pouring bullets into it felt really good and chunky, and it was really climatic that at the very end when your extra shootybots started disappearing and the boss started firing REALLY fast and I'm like ohcrapohcrapohcrap - boom! (then I won) :D
Really great work - thank you!

Reading this made me so hyped, I'm thankful you took the time to play our game, rate it, and leave us feedback! We had a blast making this game, there were so many times where I was "testing" a change where I would just get lost in blasting baddies and having fun. There was a few more features I would've liked to add in but I'm satisfied with what we were able to produce in a mere 48 hours! Thanks again for playing =D

I destroyed the boss and I thought it was fun. It took me a while because I lost my extra guns near the end. Really good artwork, great game
