Control the miner using the Arrow keys and use your pick axe with SPACE. You can place torches with T.
I got a late start and ran out of time before being able to implement all the stuff I wanted, like exploding enemies, upgradeable weapons, sound & music, etc... Basically the game is mostly without polish, and doesn't really have a goal except trying to collect as many gems before you die.
Either way, I'm glad I submitted something this time, even if it's not perfect or even done. :D
Hope you enjoy it. :)
Summary
The Miner received generally positive feedback highlighting its appealing lighting effects, simple controls, and polished visuals reminiscent of Minecraft. Reviewers noted the game's potential if expanded with goals, more enemy variety, and additional animations. Some minor issues were mentioned, such as limited control options and lack of sound, but overall the game was seen as a neat, promising entry for the jam.

Nice game. I included it in my GM48: Collect! compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/QbScIDsTCaU

Thanks for playing it, it's always fun to see others try out your "game". I almost felt sorry for you, trying to figure out what the point was... and then there is none... :P

Yeah, I actually missed the deadline and wasn't going to submit. But then the submission got extended due to technical issues I think, and just rushed to put in some simple instructions and get it submitted. Obviously in my hurry I accidentally wrote the wrong keys for movement. Either way, thanks for playing. :)

Neat little mining game, the lighting effects were cool and the slimes were fun to attack. Would have liked to see this expanded upon, everything felt smooth and polished.

Thank you. I really should have enabled fullscreen I can see. I use an 1440p ultra-wide monitor, so the window is not too big on my screen. But I see here you can't see the bottom text. :D

I wouldn't worry to much about not being able to finish, as you yourself said, having submitted something is an achievement in and of itself :)
I can see potential in this if it were a full game with a goal and more enemy variety, maybe something like a top-down spelunky. Could turn out very fun.
Hope next time you don't get a late start, best of luck :D!

Thanks. Yeah, I'm really just happy that I submitted it. A lot of times lately when doing jams I end up not submitting anything.

I loved the lighting effect and the slime animations when they explode. The art on the blocks is also good and "minecraft" like.
I see where you were going with the game and with some more time it could've gone somewhere pretty cool. A lot of potential here.
A little bit more animation on the player could've gone a long way.

For some reason I had time to animate the blob, yet I didn't get around to animating the player. :P Thanks for your feedback. :)
