Interesting world. I included it in my GM48: Colors are Important compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/jmAfNqkuezc

I really enjoyed exploring around this little world, and I liked that the first few powers weren't gated (it would be really interesting to see a longer metroidvania that ran with this idea and had several orders in which each powerup could be acquired).

Sadly, I have to inform you that the game is likely to be DQ because it breaks the rules of the jam. I don't see any feedback informing you, so I prefer letting you know and invite you to check again on the rules:
- All assets (art, music, sounds) are supposed to be done in the 48 hours. With some exceptions (although unclear for music since you can find free asset in the gms marketplace), but it's not the case of your game
- You are not allowed to "update" the game after the 48 hours. Of course, you can make a post-jam version for those who already rated. But because you invite people to play the updated version instead, it has become the version people seem to consider while rating. (I could be wrong but... because it's inviting, it's likely)
Note that as a result, I personally rated your game according to the unaltered version (downloadable from this page), as we need to give fair ratings for the rules everyone has followed (me included, who would have liked to add a hotfix! but rules are the rules).
Note however that I don't think you did this maliciously or on purpose. It happens, and I don't hold you "responsible" as I don't think you intended to wrong anyone. I believe you are on the discord, but I wasn't able to find your name to inform you there;
I do intend to get back on your game later on to properly test it with the updated version, as it seems pretty interesting and worth checking out.
But because of the number of entries, I will get back to it only later, as I already rated it. I hope I didn't bring too much disconfort, but for fairness towards everyone we can't really expect exceptions. ^^'
PS: Please hit me up with a way to contact you for whenever i will play the fixed game to give you feedback I don't know if you are in the game maker discord, but you can send me a message there or twitter Or mail

Thats understandable, after i uploaded the unplayable version I realized that might be the case. But since my upload so immediately cuts the game short, my main interest was to at least share the rest of the effort. Im happy just with community feedback, ultimately.
I must have misread or overlooked the assets rules, so that was my bad. But, live and learn, I know for next time now XD

Game had lot of to play, but sometimes it was difficult to understand where I was on the level. Maybe you should have colored background of the areas to give something to grasp on? I played whole game, I would have hoped somekind of story or more to the end, but it was good variety of game mechanics. Camera was bit jittery. Overall it was good game.

So close! Try as I might, I couldn't find the last color egg! Still, it was fun little platformer! I like how each color opened up a new ability or way to traverse the area! Also good that you were generous with the various flowers and light torches. Possessing the blocks and other items was neat as well. The music fit really nicely too.
My only gripe is that I couldn't find the last one, but that's probably 100% my fault. I saw some lava in the top left of the level, but not sure I ever laid eyes on the last egg.
Nicely done!

Thanks for playing it! If I had more time, I'd have put it a few more subtle nudges for where to go. If you missed the one in the top left - you had to go up the elevator to the top of the level, where the cloud were, and then go all the way to the left.

- The camera feels very stiff and should have, in my opinion, some smoothing o:
- I like the responsiveness of the controls. Very direct and intuitive. Me likey :3
- The first room is WAY TO HUGE! I got lost immediately and had to restart the game after ten minutes of aimless wandering :c
Otherwise, good luck with the game, Joe! :D

Thanks for playing! I didn't have time to get much feedback from test players before upload and it's hard to tell how labyrinthine your map is when you know where everything is XD
I also would have liked to play with the camera, but I put that off for the polishing phase and then ran out of time before that phase. Such is game jams! :D

My brother made this and that's a pretty dang cool thing.
Seriously though as a game jam I think it's incredibly impressive. There's a variety of things to do with the power set given and no wrong direction to explore to figure it all out. I had my niece and nephew play today and with a little guidance a 6 year old was able to see it through to the end using visual cues primarily. That's pretty amazing.

I played the post-jam keyboard version, but had a great time working out hte puzzles and finding all of the colours. I did manage to get each one in the end, and the difficulty curve was spot on. Really enjoyed the whole aesthetic of this game. Great work!

very cool artstyle and real potential on the main mechanic. It's definitely a game that deserves more time to develop than one jam.
the atmosphere created is really great as well, eerie music, a real feeling of loneliness during it all.
Well done hope to see more like this!

More time would have been nice, add in some more puzzles and exploration, and some extra polish that I couldn't get around to- but I'm glad you enjoyed it nonetheless!

This game is so relaxing and beautiful. Everything from art, to music, and game play, works together to create a consistent emotional tone. It's very impressive. From a design perspective, I wouldn't change a thing. The only slight drawbacks for me were that the surface world seems to have a parallax effect that looks a bit weird. I also found that standing under a platform when it lowers can make you stick to to underside of the platform when it raises. But these are nitpicks in an otherwise stellar experience.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! I know exactly what you're talking about with the parallax and elevators, just ran out of time to address those issues! That's 48 hour jams for ya!
