edit: Sometimes the game will start in a 1:1 resolution, so you may have to restart it or alt-tab out to exit then re-run it.

GOAL

To kill the man who is responsible for it all.

Destroy all 10 enemies in reverse-order, starting from number 10. You are only able to destroy an enemy who's number is visible.

Be careful, the minute-hand is not friendly.

CONTROLS

A & D: Move

SPACE: Jump

LMB: Shoot

R: Restart room

GAMEPLAY

Fight your way through 10 enemies, starting at number 10.

If you get hit 3 times, you are dead!

Don't touch the minute-hand!

I like how the clock is related to your movement in time and how it can hurt you. Not so keen on the countdown for killing but heh, at least it's kind of unique. Would have been nice to know how much health you have left.

I love your interpretation of time travel :D

The game was cool but too easy. I have a few little complaints:

    • I wish there was another way of indicating which enemy should be attacked, like maybe the other being black & white of something like that, because the arbitrary numbers looked kinda weird
    • why is the minutes hand so slow compared to the hours one ?
    • the boss was a little too long and it seemed I wasn't making any progress. Just enough for me to ask myself if I should just let him kill me

And one last thing, not your fault since it's a GMS2 bug, but full screen on high refresh rate screen is currently bugged and scales up the framerate of the games. I first had a bug that showed the game is 1:1 resolution but is was really small and I think the game still thought it was fullscreen because I couldn't aim without loosing focus.

In fullscreen I can alt-tab out and in and sometimes the framerate get back to what's intended, but on a dev side you can avoid these problems (and a lot of other framerate issues) by using delta time.

I think you also should let the player choose how to display your game, so avoid forcing fullscreen (maybe you did but I couldn't alt enter out of it)

Very interesting concept! I included it in my GM48: Countdown compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/5_pXg7wyEyc

Thanks! I saw the video and I noticed you might not have read the description, the enemies each have their own number & you start by destroying the enemy with the number 10. And then the number 9 will be revealed on another enemy and you destroy that one next. And so on..

Shooting the enemies without a number will not kill them :P I know it’s a far fetched idea but you should give it a play again!

Really enjoyed the idea of travelling forwards and backwards in time by running on the clock!

If you decide to take the game further, perhaps you could include a mechanic which has the future affected by what you do in the past!

I really like this game! The way you interpreted time-travel is original and the gameplay is fun too! I suggest adding some music next time.

Hey Grey, thanks for the feedback! It’s awesome that you’re streaming everyone’s games and reviewing them!

I appreciate your critique and I know that art has always been my downfall, but eventually I’ll learn how to not get carried away with awful pixel art. Thanks again and I’ll be sure to play and rate your game.
