You are Tidder! Your species is from the land of Reddit. Your job is to capture all the Internet Trolls using your Reddit antenna to spit bubbles at the Trolls. There is a coin in every level.... You don't have to get the coin but you will instantly become cooler if you do.

Oddly there is a rocket ship on every level and if it leaves before you capture the trolls then the remaining trolls will double their speed.

You will get an extra 10 seconds (it will countdown ;) to get the coin once you capture all the trolls.

    You have got a lot of good feedback so i dont have nothing to add. The game is nice and pleasent to play, good art and a really nice music.

    Comparing your old entry with this one show how many improvements you've made in only 4 months.

    I liked the old school Bubble Bobble style gameplay. The "countdown" theme seemed to be shoehorned into the game. The music and sound effects were really nice!

    • Hitboxes are waaaaay too huge. As a result, they feel unfair. The player will always forgive hitboxes to their advantage, the opposite is not certain.
    • Visually, the bubbles are all the same. would have been nice if they weren't ending in the same pixels or if they were wiggling as they move up.
    • I did my best to get the coins except the last one. I kinda would have wished they served a purpose. The last one was too hard for me to get.
    • fullscreen messes with the pixel ratio, so some pixels get 1:2 instead of 1:1.

    The rest has been said in other feedbacks imo

    Not a bad game though, It was really well polished and had a nice number of levels. The settings are also a nice touch! Soothing music too.

      Kwisarts! Thank you so so so much for taking the time to play, rate, and give feedback to my game. My son is the one that wrote the song for the jam and recorded it on his phone. I'll let him know you said it was soothing. I have a lot to work on for sure. The hitboxes would have been a very easy fix.... aaaaaaa... I wanted to make more than one type of bubble and make them more animated but I got caught up in so many things that I did not know how to do. Like I have never had enemies before so it was hard to figure out some challenging yet fun AI. The COINS were also supposed to have a purpose but again time was my enemy.

    Very nice game, good art, nice relaxing music (which I needed for that last stage ha.). And it all feels very complete. Somehow, I managed to beat the game with all the coins.

    Nice touch with the options menu, which had the ability to mess with the sound levels. not something you see often in a jam.

    For suggestions, I'd have to agree a little less randomness on the enemies and speeding up the players responsiveness a little would help. Controls were good but I'd prefer not to use the up arrow for jumping as it feels a little cramped, but that's just a personal preference.

    I'm not proud of how many times I died, but I am not one to give up, getting the coin on that last level was brutal! Those trolls will haunt my nightmares.

    This game feels so good, with that art and music (and this option screen!), the only thing I didn't really like is how the trolls move, it felt kinda weird compared to your character's abilities.

      Thank you for taking the time to play my game. Yeah, this was the first time I attempted to put bad guys in my game. I had no idea how to do the AI but from all the feedback I'm getting it looks like I did it wrong. lol. I'm going back to the drawing board and looking at new ways of making bad guys more fun.     Neat game with some interesting mechanics. I especially like the rainbow flying ability thing. It's also fun trying to trap all the enemies in bubbles. I'm not a big fan of the enemies' randomised movement though. It makes some of the levels become a lot easier or harder based on luck. Having the coin as an extra collectable is cool for an extra challenge but it would be nice to be able to tell how many coins you got or to go back to previous levels to get coins you missed. The game looks and sounds nice overall, though the black fading in/out effect looks a bit weird.

I also was a fan of the rainbow flying mechanic with the rainbow healthbar! lol Yeah this was the absolute first time I have ever tried to tackle AI (or even put enemies in a game). I have a lot of work to do for sure. I made the initial variables happen when the enemy object is created and then it follows a set pattern. Like it goes only one way and then hits a wall and goes the other way. I through in some random jumps tho! Aaaaaa man, I'm sorry you did not like the fading in/out. I saw that last jam and thought holy crap that looks awesome let me try to do that in my game! lol Thanks again for playing, rating, and leaving feedback!!

    I liked it! I mean, I like Bubble Bobble and also reddit, so of course I'd like this :P

    I unfortunately didn't beat it, gave up after dying 10 times on one of the levels. I did get the coin on every level until that point though :D

    The game feels challenging, but I think some of the challenge comes from the somewhat sluggish controls unfortunately. Lots of times I got hit by an enemy from behind even though I totally pressed the key to move towards it and shoot a bubble in time, but tidder didn't turn around fast enough :/

      Haha yes Bubble Bobble was a fav of mine as a kid. Great job getting the coins (they are not needed to beat the level or the game but i like having that extra level of difficulty for those choosing to go after it. I made the game harder than other games ive done in the past but added the fact that the game shoots you right back into the level to see of that would get players to play "just one more time" like the feeling I get when playing Super Meat Boy. I for sure dont want sluggish controls tho. I am going to have to look at that. Thanks for the feedback!!!!
