Tunnel rat is a game where you play from the perspective of an escaped lab animal. The only means of escape is to keep tunneling further and further down, away from your former captors. You'll get hungry and thirsty, so acquire food and water where you can.
Lab techs have hired a crew of relentless drill men to hunt you down and have deployed heartless seeker bots to destroy you.

Okay I know at this point it might be annoying to receive that type of feedback but please... I cannot stress that enough... Never upload an installer :/ Save the application in a zip or even as an .exe but never an installer for a game jam!

This game was kinda fun, or at least it would've been if the movement wasn't so bothersome.
The idea is there, you also got some variety with all the enemies and thirst/hunger to manage while you descend. But the execution is quite poor, movement feels really bad, and jumping is not just useless, but risky aswell since you can get stuck to the walls thanks to the bad collisions.
There's also bad communication with the player, since you don't explain how to get food (I found out by accidentally jumping on an enemy) or how to make points (I still haven't figured out this one, I think the counter is just stuck at 0). And there's no goal either.
But despite all that I think you can make a pretty neat game out of this, if you just fix the controls and make more things obvious so that the player can understand how to play.

Pretty neat game. I like the graphics, especially the rat. Digging around works quite well and is fun. I'm not entirely sure what the goal is, though. Is there an end or do just dig as far as you can? I also wasn't sure how to refill hunger, either. Regardless, the music is good.

I really love Dig Dug so I was excited to see a game with a similar style. I think the main problem you have is the controls. Becoming unaligned with the grid while digging is easy to do, annoying, and likely to get you killed. I think the platform that the workers stand on should move faster, perhaps a bit of rubber banding. I didn't notice it did until I decided to stay at the start to figure out what would happen. That's when I found out you can also steal the workers' lunches which is funny :) That seems to be the only time the jump button is useful. When used while tunneling, you instantly stick to the side of the tunnel, so you have to dig out a large area to use it which isn't worth it. One other thing I noticed is that after moving to the left, when you dig down the rat sprite will be facing up.
Overall I really liked it. Would like to play it again if you decide to put some more time into it.

Almost didn't play because of the install (it's really a pain when you want to play games in a jam), but the "heartless seeker bots" in the description made me laugh so I gave it a try.
It's a good concept and it works well, but I'm not sure I understand how I god food, it seems by destroying the drones but I have now idea how I did it. I saw a chest on top too, but only at the start, I don't know if it's intended.
Apart from that I liked how the rat could climb on wall, but I think it helps too much, the game is already quite easy.
Oh and a little problem that had me die on my first try : drones in water are really hard to see.

So first off, you should upload the game as a .exe and not as an installer. It makes people not want to play.
Second, I couldn't really tell how to get going. Once the spike balls started rolling down, I couldn't get away from them.
In addition, I don't understand what the blue blocks are for. I think they restore health and thirst but I couldn't tell. I always died before the stats fell too much.
Good concept though!

Controls are a little sticky, which made it pretty frustrating, but maybe that was your intention. I wish that it was explained that jumping on bombs gave food; I figured it out by accident and couldn't quite manage to do it a second time. You got the beginnings of a very good game here. I highly recommend you keep fleshing it out and tweaking it after the jam, I really think you can take this from strong concept to a very fun game once you have more than 48 hours to work with:)
