Aiming for the stars is a noble cause, noble enough to eat all the fruits you find laying on the ground, even if you don't know what they'll do to you.
That has to be a metaphor for something, and that something is either me trying to get into a game design university or a hobo jumping on the moon.
The choice is up to you.
Jump with Space, and move with WASD

Nice graphics, interesting game. I included it in my compilation video series of all of the GM48 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/Lt8bNQTICns

Nice little game!!! At first I thought the fruits were random on what they gave (or took away from you) but once I realized what each fruit did I had a much better experience. I was able to beat the game which was exciting and I liked your final message!!!!!
Also, the ART!!!! Holy cow very cool job/concept!

Thanks for the feedback! I'm happy you liked both the art and the game, I wanted to make the fruits more different than just a color swap to make it more clear that everyone had its own effect, but I ran out of time.

First, a couple things: spacebar doesn't go well with "wasd" movement. A key like "j" might have been more comfortable. Also, it felt clunky and difficult to get back to the top of the tree because of the controls and layout of the vines. I also wish there would have been a bit more to the game.
Gotta say though, the atmosphere is great. The graphics have some charm, particularly the background; I like the music, and also I like the overall message a lot. And on that note...
...I wish you luck with your dream!
Edit: I thought about it and there is a lot of of games that use "wasd" and "space" together, but most of them also use mouse (one-handed keyboard style). But I guess it's not too big a deal either way; just a preference thing in my case.

Thanks so much for the feedback and the good luck, I hope you achieve your dreams too man <3
Most of my games use wasd for movement and space for everything else, because that's the key combination I find most comfortable to play with, but obviously everyone has their own preferences and key remapping is a really useful feature for that, I should start adding it to my games tbh.

Wow, Nice art style! Did you develop it by yourself or did you take inspiration from someone? I really like it.
I accidentally played through the game with no volume the first time. This gave me an example how sound really add to the gameplay. When I later tried again with music and sound effects, I became more calm and appreciated the graphics and message more.
The gameplay though is way too easy. I didn’t bother to care what the fruits did because I would always collect them all, no matter what. The timer also don’t fit the mood and story.
Edit: I disagree with Joseph, spacebar fits perfect with WASD. I use finger 2,3 and 4 on my left hand and put my thumb on space.
I also disagree with fachewachewa. I like T pun!

Thanks for the feedback! I always try to experiment with the artstyle as much as anything else in my games, and usually something totally random will become cool after enough tries, the music was basically the same thing.
I ended up not giving enough time to the gameplay balance, because I had to do a ton of extra stuff for uni (which I also did this game for), and the timer is one of those extra things that I had to try and fit into the game.

Ah, parents always know better :D
Also I just understood the pun in the title and I hate you.
Anyways, I'm not sure how you managed to get that look but I love it, the atmosphere is so good. The game is rather easy but it's shot enough to not get boring. The only real problem is the jump, but once you realize you get a "boost" when you're on a slope it's ok.

Thanks for the feedback Fachewa, I'll tell you how to get that look :P
1) Sketch a background because uni told you so.
2) Remake that background in gimp using images you found on Google
3) Make that background into a pixelart with a limited palette
4) Apply dithering filter and cleanup manually.
5) ???
6) Profit!

Short but lovely! I think the timer being bigger at first is a nice touch until you get used to the controls. It's fun and cute. Also the background looks unique, like it's a dream
PS: I'm jealous, you have private feedback

And I might have private feedback, but you have more than double the amount I have, so I should be the jealous one :P

Neat little game. The visuals and music lend it a great atmosphere. The gameplay is fairly simple but there's a bit of a risk/reward element in trying to stay under the tree as long as possible without running out of time. I like how the different fruits do consistent things so over time you can learn which to avoid and which to go for. You seem to jump different heights depending on what you're doing but what changed the height wasn't clear (which is kind of important when your whole goal is to jump a certain height) so I think that should have been explained better.

I'll be completely honest with you Veralos, the weird jump heights are actually just a problem caused by how badly i implemented slopes in the game, it should be consistent under the tree though, I'm just really bad with slopes and hitboxes and stuff >.<
Thank you for playing and giving feedback :)
