I really liked your game. The easter egg detail was top notch, and I really enjoyed the music. The last scene, when you can no longer turn to grandpa from the flowery graves was pretty sad, but I guess it's all worth it in this universe where ghosts can fly and go wherever they want except these weird death boxes which I am now sure is what you see when you die.

I missed a couple more animations to make the game a bit more visually engaging, but the gameplay and idea did sure make up for it.

Btw, found a couple bugs while playing: The ghost sometimes can get stuck his own wall boxes and you have to restart, and in one occasion I found myself falling from the room because there was no room limit.

Zombie movies would be so much better if they played that whistle noise when they rise from their graves. 10/10

That noise was supposed to be a placeholder until I found something better, but it kind of grew on me while I was testing... Thank you for the feedback!

That's a really interesting game. Surprised that it's not more popular.

    Things I'm not fond of:

    • A bit too slow when getting back from the grave
    • The music is super nice but... the sound effect from the grave is hem... too goofy in my opinion
    • Visually, it's lacking in my opinion. A bit too simple in that field, it would have benefited greatly from more refined/elaborate art. (I mean, that's a bit harsh to say I'm guessing, it's my art side speaking ^^' )

    However...

    "The level design is great.

When I had the last death on the 2nd level, I thought "but... there is no grave nearby and walls are blocking me" then realized we could go under the platform. That was a nice "oooohh" moment. Likewise, the frog usage surprised me. "

^ These were my thoughts in the first levels, so let me rephrase that now that I've finished the game:

The level design is perfect. The flow is impeccable. You feel like you discover things in a new way each level. It felt nice having a new way to explore levels with just the frog and death. I wish there was more, cause I know you could have potentially more content. But the scope was perfect. That's the right amount of content for a jam! Everything felt right gameplay wise. I don't like puzzle games (that type of puzzles I mean), but I was sucked in from beginning to end. I'm disappointed that the game was so far low in popularity cause it definitely deserves more praise. It's simple, yet has some complexity, and plays nice! Also the credits were meta and adorable.

Definitely one of my favourite entries of this gm48.

EDIT: Do you have a twitter or something? Are you in the gms discord?

Thank you very much for the feedback! I do agree that the art could have been more polished, I have been trying to improve my art although I am still not super great at it.

Really neat little game! Might be weird, but I especially enjoyed the credits level :) The sound effect were really fun too.

I think my biggest issue with the game is the background, too bad there weren't some kind of art here, even a simple thing to avoid using this "default" color :(

Also: how many people are buried in the same graves at once?! ahah

I just played 89o's game and immediately yours, similiar ideas indeed. I liked the game and the puzzles, frog was bit annoying to handle, and hoped rats or other critters too ^^" Music was good, and it was good you added sound effects, though they werent anything super. The graphics were ok, the gamplay mechings were good, collisions worked and they didn't glitch anywhere. Lead the frog to you -part was really good, I didn't think in this game you would pull something like that.

    Very I N T E R E S T I N G ! Especially when you started cloning Super Mario Odyssey. I liked it! I do think, however, that he's a bit too agile for an old man.

I actually made a game with a very similar concept, it was fun to see it implemented in a whole different way.
