Description
Mouse only game

'Yawn Please' is a game based on the inability to not yawn when seeing others do so. To gamify the experience, you must try not to yawn while trying to find collectable pins. See how high of a score you can get before you find yourself yawning along with everyone else in the office.

Disclaimer: This game will make you yawn, you will get tired, and you will sleep!

I thought the concept was funny and the music was good

A very relatable premise! I failed the meta game before I even started the game, because just reading the name of the game made me yawn.

Sometimes it felt a bit unfair that someone could start yawning right as you were looking at them and you had no leeway to look away before you would start losing your meter. But that wasn't really a big issue anyway.

Well done! It was a fun experience.

Nice game! It made me yawn! I like the concept here, and you managed to execute it pretty well! My one recomendation would be giving some sort of small window where you can look away from whatever is yawning before it starts draining your health. Nice work, Solid entry :D

Weird experience ngl, but I have to admit it was a fun one. And no, I didn't yawn too :)

This game has been by far the most memey one of the jam games I have played here, in a good way! It's really comical how pretty much *everything* yawns (and also the things yawning are a little odd), except the floor. Also the pictures on the pins look a little... questionable. And the right-click version was hilarious, I bet you had fun recording the sound effects for this game!

Other than that, the pins felt a little inconsistent with the rest of the graphics. Also a rounder view of the office would have felt more natural than a rectangle area where the view could be.

Kept expecting the Chrono Trigger (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1Sb9CZEz9A ) theme to start playing as I was playing this. It's a rather strange game, and I didn't expect it to be about collecting pins, but I did like the limited view mechanic; it fit well with the bizarre occupants of the office, particularly since they changed subtly over time.

This was... an experience! The lullaby playing was genuinely mildly terrifying, I don't think I'd fall asleep in my life if that was permanently on in the background 😆 Not helped by the weird stuff creeping under the desk and out from the ceiling!

Gameplay was basic but unique enough to be interesting, at least for one play (two if you count the dip into the right-click mode).

Not bad overall, and a fun lil experience for a jam entry. Nice work!

I love the concept and I love the pin designs (Awakening mode was really funny too lol) Plus, you did in fact get me to yawn IRL, so kudos for that!

This is a cooky and funny experience which made me yawn a lot! I enjoyed the wacky weirdness of it all and, though I don't know if this was intentional, I like the accessibility of your font choice. Overall, a silly, fever-dream-esque, unique experience and I enjoyed it! Good job! :)

      Thank you for the feedback!

In regards to the font, I try to use OpenDyslexia font for all my gamejam games at least. It's an easy and simple enough accessibility feature for me to add that doesn't take away from a game like this.

I always wish I had more libraries and was more knowledgable to make my games even more accessible.

Very creative and funny game! I decidedly made this the last game I'd play before laying down because I knew it would make me sleepy, just the trick for my insomnia. The game exudes early 2000s flash games vibes, a very welcome feeling. I enjoyed looking around for tokens while avoiding the yawning masses, it had a strangely relaxing yet horror vibe. I almost didn't know what to expect around every corner: "Oh this thing surely can't yawn" I say as I naively stare at the mass vaguely taking on the form of a yawning mouth.

    Well done.

The original idea for this game came a few weeks before the jam as a Wario Ware Inc. like game and I felt this theme called for it nicely

Yawn Please! Had me creasing consistently. Right clicking on the main menu gave me Trogdor the Burninator vibes and the noises everyone makes is f** hilarious.

Things I enjoyed: This was a clever idea that forces you to look around, thus increasing your chances of looking at yawning entities. It reminded me of the original Slender 8 pages where as you collect more pages the intensity increases.

The artwork was hilarious. 10/10 for the sexy donkey alone.

The music was engaging and added to the hilarity of the atmosphere.

Thing I didn't enjoy: Couldn't work out how to play in fullscreen.

I understand why, but the cameras movement felt very restricted.

The game was heavily RNG based, without looking there was no way of knowing which entity would yawn next (as far as I could tell at least).

Thank you so much for playing and providing feedback!

The original intent was to have the room filled with characters with more dynamic animations that give you a better idea of when a yawn is coming but you know as game jams go, you usually find yourself cutting down on content and ideas

I ran into similar users with the yawning when playtesting the game and had made some minor adjustments to gameplay to fix this, but ultimately I think this is the type of game that would do mush better with fluid animations instead of 3 framed characters
