Personal Note:
I had about half the time to do this jam so I am extremely proud of what I was able to put out. There are still a few minor bugs but no crashes that I can tell! I hope you have fun and FIND THAT MENACE!

Neat game! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the games from the GM48, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/K_L2zq0zxbg

I loved the concept, but I felt that it was a tad too random. Not sure what you can do to improve that, but I think more variance in the children could help.

That was fun, I got all the upgrades!
Some points to improve:
- the kids are way too random and sometimes waaay too fast. like they change direction all of a sudden and make you miss your shot unless they're next to you. they should be more predictable.
- sometimes a bit too chaotic and unfair: I once had the target being always behind a group of kids

Really fun idea and game, I like how you added some replayablity with the shop, and the identifying gimmick was cool aswell, the art and music are kinda average though, and the gameplay can get pretty repetitive.
Still an above average game, the idea and execution is what saves it in my opinion.

I liked it a lot. Darting them for the first time was satisfying and adding the money system was a solid way to keep me playing after I'd beat it once.
The "identify" system was also smart, as it kept me from getting frustrated on runs where it was basicallly impossible to get the shot.

Good idea. Trying to pick out the menace with the clues made the game quite engaging. A few problems though: First, a bug where the menace just got stuck and wouldn't move, seemed to happen near the back fence. Second, even when you identified the menace, you didn't always have a clear shot to hit them, but at least marking them gave you some points. Third, their eye color was so thin it could be really hard to identify.

Thank you for the feedback!
Yes, getting stuck at the back fence is definitely a bug! I actually noticed it before submission but was unable to fix it in time, even though it was a simple fix.
The whole reason I added tagging (and the extra cash for it) was exactly for that reason! Sometimes it is easy to pick out the menace and get the shot in.. other times it was hard. To sort of account for that, tagging was created. I'm glad it is working as intended and I hope it serves the purpose of not making you feel too much failure if you don't make the one shot.
As far as the eyes, yeah haha. To be honest, when I playtested I didn't even use that clue. I focused mainly on the shape, favorite color, and hair color when trying to identify the menace. It could probably be left out completely (or reworked to be more contrasting).

The concept is great, but I think the limited time you had to work on it shows. The most annoying bug is that the clue text is barely readable since it appears in the middle of the room instead of on the paper which it is intended to.
Very difficult too - I successfully ID'd the perp a few times but never managed to connect with the dart on those occasions.
I would like to see a more polished version of this someday!

Were you forcing fullscreen? I didn't take the time to make the text placement relative so it was hard-coded to an x,y value. That could be why the clues were like that!
Yeah I think I'm finally getting the hang of jams and keeping things more simple. If the whole weekend would have been free for me I would like to think I would have had plenty of time for polish and to fix the couple of bugs there are!
Thank you so much for the feedback! I love doing these things!

This is great, and you should totally be proud of this! Really great concept and use of theme. I loved the style and how it felt like i was actually play as a small child. Well done!
