Play as an egyptian slave who must find his way out of the pyramid. Use your shield (kind-of a boomerang too) to defend yourself, or attack, and battle your way through a randomly-generated path.
Directional keys - Move & aim the shield (if armed)
A - Jump
S - Shoot the shield (if armed)
R - Fast restart

Very well polished game, great art, sweet sounds and music and I like the random order of the levels.
I'm not a huge fan of the platforming, it felt a little floaty and the hitboxes didn't lend themselves to precise jumping.
I'm pretty sure the difficulty of the individual levels got harder the later the level which was a nice touch.
The shield throwing and aiming was really fun and satisfying as well.

Too bad the levels repeat themselves, it kind of removes the "randomness", as they're just different room layouts. If they were a bit more numerous, it would have been better.
Aside that, cute art!

The art, animation and sound are lovely. Game feels good to play, especially the shield throw.
It's too bad there isn't more uses and different rooms because this could be really great. I'd just say the jumps need a little more work to really feel good. I encountered a minor bug also, where I could move up on a slope for some reason (in the room with fireballs) and had to jump to get up.
Anyway, great game overall!

Definitely the best art we (Lone and I are playing together) have seen in the jam so far :D We would love to see a full-blown game with the potential of the shield fully unleashed. We are in love with the visuals and the gimmick, and the music and SFX fit it very well.
The uses of the shield is quite limited as is, but we could easily see where you were going with it. If you are to continue developing this idea, we would suggest focusing even more on the shield - make the player dependent on it.
Love it <3

I made it to level 16 after I started to understand how to kill the bugs. There's only a few different rooms which repeat. The only differences I noticed on repeat was that the bugs get way harder each time and the moving platform moves a little faster each time.
The control is mostly solid, but it's underutilized. The shield only really has two functions, block and attack, and most importantly I think there's only one use for each of those functions, the only thing which I found you can block is the fireballs and the only thing I can attack is the bugs.
All-in-all it's okay but it could really stand out if it just had some more variety (maybe like 7-15 randomly generated rooms, instead of only a few, and a more interesting difficulty increase, maybe a variation of the same room with trickier placed obstacles, once they start repeating). And most importantly I think, just more things to do with the shield.

Thanks for the feedback, Joseph!
You're right, there are only a few rooms (five) that are repeated in a randomly way. We wanted to do 10 rooms, at least, but we had to work so we ran out of time, and a lot of ideas didn't make it to the game. The same for the shield, we wanted to work on more ideas for it, but we only managed to make two of them: defend and attack.
We know the game lack a lot of content but, well, we made what we could afford with the time we had.
We kind of learnt that you won't have time to do proper level design on a jam, oops.

is there an end or does it just keep cycling through the same levels. I did like how it wasn't in the same order every time so it gave it more variation. I believe I made it to level 9 but It seemed like the same 3-4 rooms repeating. It's cool I was just curious if there is truly a way to beat the game. I also thought the main character was really cute and the shield throwing was fun. I thought maybe I could hold the shield downwards to bounce off the spikes but that wasn't the case.

Hey, Barret, thanks for the feedback! And sorry for the late response.
There's no end, there are 5 different levels that are repeated constantly, but with some minor variations. We wanted to make more rooms but we totally ran out of time.
It is a good idea to use the shield to bounce on spikes! We didn't think about that but I like it. We could work on it if we do a post-jam version.
Thanks for playing it and for taking time to write feedback! :)
