    This was simple but fun. I couldn't get past level 3 though, so there may be more of this game I haven't experienced because I suck at it too much. Interesting take on a maze game but not much depth to the gameplay (from the levels I could see) and the graphics could use some animation or more effects to make things more exciting.

      The game is lacking a lot, specially on graphics. Actually I'm the one who's lacking the skillset ._.', so I went with simple but fun and challenging gameplay (or at least that's what I hoped for).

    With a keyboard breaker game like this I think there are some things to keep in mind. First, getting back into the action should be absolutely immediate. The explosion and scroll back to the start, is a nice effect. However, after the 100th explosion it just adds even more frustration to the mix.

    Obviously it is a difficult game, difficulty settings would have been really helpful for those of us with less twitch reaction. Simply making the plane have a variable speed would be enough of a change to difficulty.

    Very long segments with no checkpoints are really painful on the player. I'm sorry if my post seems negative, but after 150 failures on the same level it becomes easy to dwell on the negative.

    All of that said, you've made a tight little package with this game and it is very well done. I wish I was about 10 years younger so I could fully enjoy it more, but it's impressive and you should be proud.

      I was working with variable speed at first but then I thought it would only complicate things and decided to simplify. Maybe I should keep it as difficulty settings as you said, it's a good idea.
      I think "keyboard breaker" is a good description for the game (at least the last stage) :)

    A wild review em Português appears!

    O que seu jogo tem de difícil, ele tem de bacana. Só fui até a terceira fase, mas a física tá muito boa. As sprites estão muito bonitas, o cenário nem tanto, mas como o cortop falou, isso agregou muito ao gameplay, que ficou fantástico!

    Excelente trabalho! Espero ver mais BRs aqui na GM48 no futuro.

    Difficult, but a lot of fun! I really like these sorts of skill games. It's the sort of game I can get into the zone with. I'm sad to say I gave up at the last stage though. Like I said, it's difficult!

    Anyway, the plane and tank graphics were nice, but everything else was just bland. However, I think that works, because it makes it super clear where the paths are. Sure, it could be prettier, but the simplicity compliments the gameplay. I'm the sort of person who prefers utilitarianism to pretty, but messy graphics. Also, the trails and particle effects were nice.

    The sounds were bland and weak. I was hoping for a more bombastic explosion when you hit the tank! Not a big deal, but it would have made finishing the stage more satisfying.

    Another problem I had was with the font. It's ugly and poorly scaled. I know making pixel fonts look nice can be difficult, but when it's done wrong it looks very amateurish. It's not a huge problem, but it really jumped out at me.

    Anyway, nice game! Great job!

      I'm glad you liked the simple graphics, I must admit I hated my tank hahaha.
      Too bad you didn't like the sounds :/ I kinda like them, even though it's only 2 sounds hehe, but I totally agree with you that hitting a tank should be more bombastic than just hitting the wall.
      I see your point about the font I used, I realized it was kinda hard to read later but ended up sticking with it...

    Turning radius of the plane was very wide making some turns extremely hard. Still though, i really like the simple gameplay. It was legit fun. Good game.

    Ahhh too hard for me, seeing the other comments, I'm glad I gave up sooner :D

    But it's really a neat game, simple mechanic & good twist on the theme.

    I DID IT, THE WAR IS OVER, 160 PILOTS DIED FOR ONE TANK, BUT THE WAR IS FINALLY OVER Over

    Insanely difficult last level aside, this game was a ton more fun than I expected from the below average art, sound, and level design, It's one of those rare cases where the controls and game mechanics are so damn fun that you can just ignore the bad things and give the game an overall good score anyway.

    Great job, probably the biggest score I'll give in gameplay.

      Yeah, I was going to make 3 more stages before that one but well, things almost never go as planned...
      I agree that I'm lacking a lot, specially on the artistic level, this time I focused on at least having something playable because I wasn't sure if I was gonna be able to stick to the jam until the end. But I liked the 2 sounds the game has haha, I always use bfxr.net for sfx.

    169 . One hundred and sixty nine. That's how many attempts it took me to beat that freaking last level. 169/202 attempts. In other words, over fives times as many attempts as it took beat every other level combined. Just one of the segments would be tough on it's own, but you have to do three of the dang things back to back. And for the last third you're upside down so your controls are completely inverted. And then you have to do a stupidly precise turn to actually hit the tank.

    ...But other than that ridiculous difficulty spike in an already challenging game, this game's pretty good.

      I intended to make 10 stages, but then I made this 7th one and struggled to beat it myself, it even got me tired, but I couldn't leave it out after that, hahaha, so I said "Ok, this one is the last" and that's kinda how it went .-.
      I'm glad you had the patience to keep trying though :)

    Game was too hard for me :( I got stuck in fifth mission, I gave up after I had 111 total tries, which more than 80 was on the fifth. The simplicity was good, just maybe other than black and rectangular shapes would have been nice. Also little bit more tighter controls, and also maybe just little bit smaller hitbox ^^ I think background music was not necessary in this game, as it would have started to repeat itself and annoy the player in the long run, so the sound of motor running was good enough.

    The fifth, after I managed avoid all the obstacles I could not go narrow path, it always hit a little bit in the corner. Most likely I did not make there, I got so frustrated, and then I started time to time accidently fly planes before camera even got to the start -> Kabom! :D

    It was nice little game overall, my try-hard-mode was not enough, I even manually forced my computer run game slower running other programs at the background :D

      I always tend to make thing more hard than easy... and in 48h it's even harder (no pun intended) for me to balance things properly. The black and white retangular shapes were supposed to be buildings at first and then I totally gave up on that and just left them as these unexplainable things that block your way, hehe ._.'
      I can say it's the first time someone told me that they tried to cheat by making the game slower hahaha, interesting move!

    This game is a little bit hard, but that's not a problem. Although the graphics may be a little lacking and there isn't much audio, the gameplay is good, which is what matters. This game is quite good.

      Thanks for your feedback Yeah, the graphics... I have to work hard on that...
      I only made background "music" for a game once, and it took a long time, which I didn't have left for this one :/
