Description

This is a last-minute, made-in-one-hour, proof-of-concept demo that tasks you with providing colors on your screen that solve the given riddles.

This project was made to push the limits of what GameMaker can do, and uses some strange tricks to accomplish what it does. As a result, it's a bit finicky.

Interesting idea, though I didn't seem to get it to work. I included it in my GM48: Colors are Important compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/km3gD5GdGBA

A very neat idea. Sadly I could not progress any further than the first level.

Nice idea, I never thought something like this was possible in GM, But sadly it didn't work for me.

This blew my mind! The color detection worked best for me when I went with fully saturated colors. If I'd stumbled upon this game randomly on the internet, I'd never have thought it was a GM game! Fascinating work. :)

I tried for ages, playing with a range of shades in blue and green to get past the first riddle and it had me beat. Can you tell me what rbg values it needs to see so I can complete the game? This is quite unique and I'd be interested to see what else you can do with it

Super interesting. I love that you went so experimental for a jam. I really didn't expect the color detection to work as well as it did. You certainly deserve top marks for innovation.

    Thank you!

tophi baby! I loved this -- seeing the electron jumble when I opened the folder made me laugh joyously. The concept was so starkly unique and creative, and I enjoyed it very much. The color detection was a tad touchy, but its totally forgivable for a jam. I blame gamemaker entirely.

Interesting concept, accompanied with riddles! What more can you ask for? It was a fun experience, although somewhat unresponsive at times

I stopped at "!GO". That's a really cool idea and I don't know how you did that, but it doesn't work that well.

I'm not sure if it's because this laptop is VERY slow or if the game asks for specific colors. Took me a while for it to accept a sky color, and I tried a lot of different shades of green until it worked on a random one.

This game is insane. I can't think of any other game that has done what it does. I kinda wish that you could resize the window, but that's not a huge issue. Everyone should try out this game.

Doesn't work for me :/ https://imgur.com/a/X5xSP2F this was blue apparently. After that i need to show "ROY_BIV.". Is it some kind of riddle i don't understand?

Post-mortem

There doesn't seem to be anything here.
