The scrolling didn't feel to intuitive, but ok that's just wanky controls and you could call that a feature. I liked the art, but the game itself isn't balanced really well. The first wave is pretty much unbeatable, one piece of artillery can't handle all the lads that come up and the stomper thing doesn't turn right, so it's inefective on the right side of the tower. The bullets of the artillery also do not spawn in the middle, or at least a place you'd expect them to spawn (tbh I do have that issue from time to time as well, but it's not that hard to fix). Clicking on "defences" in the level was also a challenge from time to time.

I recommend you try to fix these issues, not with the goal to publish the game later (though you can do that of course), but to learn from them. I really do like the concept and I was hyped after reading the intro.

There was polishing and it looked promising, though it seems you overestimated time, as technical side have problems. But jams are like this, time is limited and you have to prioritize something.

I could have survived first wave several times, but in the end I didn't hit on the last ones. Aslo first wave is too strong :c I managed to get three turrets, but they all missed the last 4-5 boys, which were at the same spot next to bagel. Aah.. reason was that turrets aim was bad, and I think because of the bullet's origin (sprite and collision) was not in the center. Therefore when you rotate sprite, it rotate bullet around origin. As bullet is not on the origin, but side of it, the origin of sprite goes exactly where it should but bullet sprite/collision will go next to it. And turrets did not hit their targets because of that.

But yeah, take this game as a learning experience ^^

The scrolling didn't make sense to me at first, then I realized it only scrolls based on our mouse position relative to the middle of the screen.

The punchers seem to stop hitting enemies after the first few hits (they just punch into the air and don't hit "the boys").

Those issues aside, the art is really good in this game. The music fits well, and the sound effects are good on top of that! I've always been a fan of tower defense games, and this fits in nicely with that genre. Solid entry!

Would have loved to give this a much higher rating, just too many technical issues for me to get past the first wave. Watched Problematicr stream so I at least got to watch someone else do it! Loved the art my dude, just pay a bit more attention to the balancing and stuff next time!

Sick intro, gameplay could've been better, controls didn't work for me, I had to press a bit "above" the buttons to make it work. But idk, I made 2 gunthingies as fast as possible but still lost instantly.

Music/sound was very nice. And because of that intro I kept playing for a while.

I got to give you alot of credit for the pixel art, it looks absolutely amazing. Also the intro with your logo looked quite profesional.

However, the gameplay itself was somewhat frustrating for me, middle mouse to scroll up and down didn't feel very intuitive and I didn't really get used to it. The punch tower seemed to miss alot of its attacks and I never figured out how to turn it, so it would allways punch to the left even if it was on the right side of the tower.

I loved the weird idea and the aesthetic of this. Pretty funny!

The punchers never seemed to get me any money, though. I had entire rounds where I had nothing but them and watched several guys get killed and still had 0 money by the time the pretzel was eaten. The guns also have very weird aim to them. Once guys reach the top of the tower it was like the gun would aim only at the pretzel for some reason rather than them. Wasn't able to get past wave 1 as a result. It feels more like a trial-and-error puzzle game than a tower defense game lol

    Still cool though!

Great art and music. The camera controls were annoying as others have mentioned, but I still had fun! After a few failures on wave 1, I finally found a working strategy and tried to get a good highscore. My best is 2654.

The HUD bugs out when maximising the window / fullscreening

Art and sounds are way too good!

Prob mentioned the balance, and yeah there're a lot of issues, but a couple of hours of playtesting/fixing would be enough I think, so it's really not too far of a really solid game gameplay wise.

I do have to say though that the way you've done the scrolling is extremely weird :D

Hilarious idea, but kinda poor execution, the puncher and the artillery weren't very balanced as one was kinda useless and the other one was kinda op, the art was actually great (loved the palette, aswell as the audio) but the overall game balance could've been done a little better.

This is a funny game! I found it a bit odd that punchers didn't give you money and that the cannons couldn't always hit "the boys" but besides that it was great! :D

Punchers do actually give you money, however it is hard to see because the enemies fall off the screen before you can see the coins. Also, the cannons were on the list of things I didnt have enough time to really fix, ahaha. Glad you enjoyed it!
