this is basicly a small few things you can mess around with, wholly unfinished due to sudden sickness and lack of motivation. i posted the last playable build here so someone could at least get some enjoyment out of what i made.
due to how i understood the rules all art sounds assets are all made within the 10-12 hours i spend on the project, nothing was taken from offline apart from the font that is taken from the Bitsy game engine's source code translated into a sprite sheet by me just before the jam.
the whole game is hevely basted on ones made with Bitsy with the color clashing, tile based movement and tile based movement.
now if you don't mind me I'm going to rest up ... I dont like being sick... :(

Cute graphics. I included it in my GM48: Collect! compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/yIsOdyc3NkA

Very sorry you fell sick, the game was super promising! It looks adorable and is immediately engaging, between the artstyle and the cute dialog Hope you got better!

Love the bitsy style, the falling down mechanic was a unique interaction for sure! This game has more in store, definitely some potential here, you should really continue working with it :)

thanks i would love to but, lets just say i have a list of all ideas i have for each of my games... this prototype has like 2-3 ideas though i do have quite a few ideas on games i could make with this graphical style but honistly with tile based platformer where everything moves when you do i couldnt come up with much ideas for, other than a side scrolling rogelike but im not teribly sure if that would be fun. needs more work for sure but im glad you liked it.

I really dig the artstyle and the humor was fun aswell!
But the camera was jittery when you went up and down.
It's such a shame that it is unfinished though, I would really like to explore the world more.SubmittedGuschti

good you like the art style I'm planing on makeing a few other games in this style. and yes that camera is a tad nauseating isn't it, thats todo with me being an idiot and forgetting to tone down the leaping. I had it set to a debug value, so its really not what i intended to be like sorry about that. i sort of given up on it after like 10 hours (most of witch is art and stuff that didnt make it in the game) that is something i quite regret but i really didnt know where to go with the game at that point.

I really like the art style, sound effects and immersion. Its kinda lacking Gameplay-wise and theme-wise though. :/ Well if you continue with it, it could become a cool game :)

I'm very much glad you like the art, in my opinion its one of the only things about the game i can truly say i like, I'm very surprised how immersed i actually got into the game jugging from how much time i spent on it, and yes i know that game-play-wise and theme wise its far from good i don't really expect it to be highly rated at all but that's almost all to-do with how little time i truly spent on the game that's something i defiantly want to improve on.
I'm also very surprised how much positive feedback I'm getting, especially jugging all its floors (that is has meny).

I love the "improved" Bitsy style! The falling animation was really fun, and I even managed to get out of bounds! (I think :D)
It's too bad that it's so unfinished, this really is a game that you want to explore.

hehe thanks im quite happy with the style too, im planing on making a few games following this game's style its was quite easy to make and didnt have too much bugs for how much mechanics i put in, though i need to practice a bit with my level design and story stuff.

Even though it's unfinished, this is still fun to play around with. I love this kind of art style. The tiny sprites, tile-based movement, and limited 2-colour palette per tile, all combine to make this feel super cohesive and sincere. And I enjoyed all the small little details, like being able to die from falling too many times.
Small note, the surface of the water has more than 2 colours per tile.

oh yes thanks for pointing that out, it is fixed on my version but i forgot to make sure of it being only 2 in the water. and i do plan on revisting this style it helps me not spend way too long on art meanwhile looking nice and consistent, im way too much of a perfectionist.

While the game is far from being a finished product with regards to the sheer interactivity and length, it does offer a cute experience nevertheless. It has an aesthetic, and it executes fully on it from the palette to the 8-bit graphics and grid based movement. A joke here or there accentuates the feeling the game was going for, if it was completed. I don't feel the need to exemplify the lack of polish in game play, as it clearly is unfinished. If you make it into a full game, you have a lot of character to work with.

Not much to do as stated, but I really liked the simplistic but stylish artwork. And the world could definately become something good. :)

yeah it lacks almost everything but I'm sort of happy with the majority of what comes up in the entry. all I'm going to say is if nothing else ill make more games with this style, it was so quick and easy to make. that said I'm sort of ashamed on how little i got done, it should have a lot more.

thanks, i would say like 50% of the game development time was to make the UI, TextBoxes and inventory (pressing E its not really used though) another 30% of the time was for art and doing the basic little animations and about 20% was doing the game-play programming stuff with a bit of sound sprinkled in.

I'm sorry to hear that your sick! :( the game is beautiful and the controls are nice and simple. After I got the Scuba Mask I didn't know what to do, and the main character's text could convey a little more personality, but it looks great and feels great

thanks for the kind words, and so you know I'm feeling quite a bit better now, not sure what exactly hit me but it wasnt nice, anyways after the Scuba Mask there isnt much else in the "game". though you can unlock the door and go into the water and see the little unhappy face if you like, but that's about it. sorry for the game being so lacking

That sad underwater smiley got me :D I'll judge this game with your sickness in mind.
First of, I think the artstyle and general atmosphere are great! I actually only read the description after starting the game up and playing a little bit, so I was really sad because I wanted to explore further!
So hopefully there's more from you at the next gm48 in a few months!

Dang! I really wanted to continue this game! It looked really good. If you managed to get your motivation back, I'd totally play this game.

First of all, this is SUPER CUTE! I really like the art style and the effects. And the speech boxes, they can be tough to pull off properly in GM, it's nice to see how well they were done. There are a few points I found quite tricky to progress or I got stuck on - but and there was one bit where I got stuck and couldn't progress, but that's just part and parcel of the limited time. I'm sure, with more time, you could iron the bugs out. But, that aside, I really liked what you've done here! :)

thanks for the kind words, almost everything in the game is unfinished as well as a large chunk is so unfinished i turned around and disabled it in the posted build and put up a wall so you dont get yourself stuck in the unfinished parts of the levels. but i wouldn't mind trying to finish the game off at some-point in the future.
