The rules of The Game of Exchange;
- Each player starts with 3 random 'basic' items
- At a door a player can choose to sacrifice an item in exchange for one of the three options.
- If the exchange is a 'fair' trade, the exchange will be successful and the item will be obtained.
- When someone finishes, the total items' value of each player is shown and the player with the highest value wins!
The controls:
- Left mouse button
- Enter

Making a board game seems like a neat idea, and trading is an interesting interpretation of theme. I do like the concept of traveling around and making clever trades to best other players.
Unfortunately, the execution is a bit flawed. There doesn't seem to be any way to tell whether or not a trade will be successful, or how much each item is worth. This makes it less about strategic trading and more about random guesses and luck. All the spaces on the board are pretty similar, so there's no real motivation to move your piece anywhere except to the end.
Other than that, the graphics look pretty nice. It could use some sound effects and music, though.

Neat idea! I included it in my GM48: Sacrifice compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/WwCrESwX77E

I like that we deal with a board game this time! However, I'd like to have a clue on what seems a fair trade and what isn't.. :/ Is it the color...? the price worth...? I had just one item worth trading... managed to trade my red potion with a red apple...? It would be nice to know the values, they seem a bit too arbitrary

This game was so much fun!! My boyfriend tried to exchange an iron bar and kept failing over and over again while I laughed at his face. I ended up winning. GOTY 10/10.
One thing I felt that would greatly expand the experience of the game is putting value-tiers of the itens in-game, so we know what is worth trading.
Oh, and I have a bug to report:
When we tried to exchange an item for another without selecting an item from our invetory first, the game crashed and returned the following error:
___________________________________________ ############################################################################################ FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Step Event0 for object o_Exchange: Unable to find any instance for object index '1' at gml_Object_o_Exchange_Step_0 ############################################################################################

Cool idea, board games are fun! My run wasn't very nice though... most of the trades just failed :/
I really liked the village art. Some music would be cool (I didn't have any in my game either...).
Regarding the theme, I just feel more like just a trade than a sacrifice. Even knowing that every trade is a kind of sacrifice, felt a little bit farfetched, but I guess it's just a matter of interpretation, right?SubmittedKamikaze

Great idea! The tweaks I thought would make the game better would be a way to see the value of items in-game (or at least a value tier), as well as more information on getting successful exchanges. Overall, it was pretty fun! I like that you can end the game whenever you want by landing on the finish, so it becomes a strategic play to end the game.

It's cool that you essentially applied the theme to a board game, I don't see that very often. This is definitely an interesting idea and I'd like to see it expanded upon.
