Put out the fires on each floor to allow you to use the staircase to go to the next floor. Put out all the fires to then be able to hose down the Arsonist on the final level.
WASD or Arrow keys to move
SpaceBar to use the fire hose
Levels are procedurally generated

A fun little game. My only main issue was that since you only had left and right sprites for the player it was sometimes hard to tell which direction the water was going to come from. I get that it comes out of the last direction you moved in but there was a couple of times I tried to quickly change direction and use the water and I still ended up firing up or down. I think it would've been easier to judge this if there were some up and down sprites for the player too. It also felt like it took a bit too long for the water to recharge so you could spray it again. Some sound effects would've been nice too.
Despite that though, it was a fun game and I like how you had procedural generation for the levels. That was a nice touch. Good work.

Nice little game, I beat it on second try, almost in first try.

I feel like I almost beat it on my first try but I think I missed where you have to put out all the fires before you can hose down the arsionist. The fire hose was a cool addition I was not expecting!

Glad to hear you liked it! Thanks for playing! Yeah, I wanted to get a screen that explained more, but ran out of time.

I think the character design is really cute and it's an interesting idea, the only issue I had was that the water coming from the hose was a bit of a slog, it was hard to tell what direction it was coming out of and took a while to go before I could fire more water - little improvements like that, if you continued this post-jam, would mean a world of difference. On a positive though, the procedural generation, not something you see often, very nicely done! Good job overall! :)

Thank you so much for the kind words. Really enjoyed making the game. If I continue working on it, I'll definitely work on the fire hose!

Neat game. The procedural level generation is pretty cool. I'm not sure how balanced it is but it seemed to work well enough. The water spraying is a bit slow but it's cool how that makes you strategise where to use it - hitting two fires with one shot can be a big time save!
The graphics are pretty cute. I especially like the detail of the hose following you around. The window is a bit smal though. Perhaps a scaling or fullscreen option would be helpful. Them music is good but the game feels like it's missing some sound effects.

Thanks! Yeah, the procedural generation could certainly be better, but I tried to ensure you are guaranteed an entrance and exit each time. The fires spawn within it randomly though, so that might make it a bit unfair sometimes.

Very neat to see procedural generation in use, and this had a lot of great touches - loved that the hose was persistent through levels.
There were some decisions I found odd, though, like that you couldn't spray more repeatedly (in my opinion, that could have made this a bit more frantic) and that you could stand in fires happily with zero consequence.
Good work!

I thought the music was cool, the fire hose itself was a little underwhelming for being the core mechanic. It's a really well done game so I don't mean to nit pick and I love that there's an epic boss.
