Sneg is an arcade game where you must stay warm by sticking with your penguin parents! Staying with them can be difficult, so be sure to build barriers!
Stay with penguins for as long as possible, or you will die.
Controls
WASD - Move
E / Space - Select / Place barrier
Big thanks to cecil and TFG, who helped me debug my struct based collision code!

I don't know how you get points ^^" I managed to be alive for a while, until I decided to adventure around the map. Also when you play again after dying, the music doesn't stop and it starts playing new one on top of previous music.

The artwork is fantastic, this seems like a great start to a very 'cool' game

Like others have said, it isn't totally clear how the game is supposed to work. The penguins only seemly loosely restricted (if at all) by the barriers you draw, and there doesn't seem to be a way to gain points. I did notice how you gain time when standing next to a penguin though. It's a cute concept, but could be fleshed out a bit more.
The presentation is really nice though. The limited colour pallete looks great and the artwork is all very cute. The snow effect is also a nice touch. The music is great too, though it seems to overlap itself when the game restarts.

This was quite a difficult game....actually a very difficult game. I had numerous attempts and couldn't even get a single point or however many it goes up by. I'll never know :'(.
It was rather cryptic to be honest and I really wasn't sure what I was meant to be doing at first. I read the description and began putting barriers round the penguins which wasn't necessarily easy but they seemed to escape really quick. I also thought I had to put all the penguins in barriers, so I spent quite a few tries attempting that. It was only much later that I realized the time bar was filling up when I was in with a group of penguins. But even learning this I still could not fill the bar although I got close a couple of times.
I do like the graphics. Reminds me of an original gameboy game, except blue instead of green. I liked the rather cheerful music too. It was very fitting.
But yeah I think it could've benefitted from some clearer instructions and stronger barriers. Also the penguins would often go out to sea where I couldn't reach them. Yet despite these issues, I did keep hitting play over and over and trying again and again. I really wanted to get that bar to fill but in the end it was just not meant to be.

I think the graphics and premise is sweet, nice colour pallet and NES style gameplay, though I did find it a little difficult to keep my penguins under control - difficulty is great if it's clearly understood and I think that some more clarity might help here. I did also notice a bit of frame drop when there was a large cluster of penguins but that was only rarely. Overall it was a good experience, I just wish I knew what I was meant to be doing a bit more of the time so that I could get the best out of this 😂

I like the graphics! I included it in my GM48: Sixty Seconds compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/KFZGXZMxHA8

This was quite a confusing experience, I'm guessing it didn't quite turn out how you wanted. The penguins' collisions with the barriers seemed entirely broken at least, and these boids seem to really like all teaming up and following the edges of the room—out in the water where I can't reach them ;_;
But let it be known that I after a lot of very unsuccessful attempts finally managed to score one single point. That's right, mlg pro gamer girl over here 😎

I really like the visuals in this! (Reminds me of pokemon, in a good way)
It's a cool concept. I liked how keeping within the group made the timer increase again (keeping warm), but I couldn't seem to keep the other penguins in the area for long - even when I drew the borders they were still able to run away. And they always ran away across the sea so then I'd freeze :(!!!!! So I wasn't able to survive very long.
Cool concept, cute art, nice tunes!
(What is the number in the top left?! I couldn't seem to get it to change)

- Cute art
- I really like the concept, very unique. Forcing your parents to love you.
- I like how fast paced it was
- Penguins seem to escape even if they’re trapped
- In the description it says to stay near other penguins or I die but it seems like I die either way.

I liked the graphics, they are so cute. I wish the game had some kind of score so it would be easier for me to know how good I was. I had a little bug with the music where it plays multiple times when restarting the game
