Hunt down birds as a scarecrow! When killed, a bird drops a seed that grows into a health pickup. Don't step on the seeds before they grow or you'll trample them!

Art is ok, lacks a little bit on animations for the main character, I do like that the birds light up when they are in range, made it easy to understand that I can hit them. Overall really liked the music, initially reminded me a little of a Pokemon battle song, so added quite the intense atmosphere.

Not quite sure what the end goal of the game was? I assume you try to stay alive as long as possible, with the side effect being that the birds drop seeds which grow into health over time.

Also trampled over the seeds by accident until I read the description but overall a good effort! :D

There are some interesting mechanics at play which keep the player engaged for a decent while! Just wish there was a short tutorial at the beginning of the game along with some attack animations and just a little bit more variation between the enemies. Other than that it was a fun play! It would be cool to see integration with the leaderboards!

I like this take on the theme. Definitely would have benefitted from having more variations of crows / seeds, but it's a good base.

I had to play it twice and rewrite what I am saying here as I spent the first playthrough happily collecting the seeds blissfully unaware they grew into pickups, but that's entirely on me!

This is a very cute game 😄 Nice and simple but responsive and enjoyable, with good art, decent music and an idea that provides an interesting take on the theme. Well done 😊

It's a very clever concept to have the seeds grow in to extra health if you don't trample them, it took me a few tries to navigate a way in which I could kill birds and not trample the plants as I went - it's a clever idea and well executed. I would've liked to have seen maybe some different plants with different powers growing from them as well, if you continue to work on this post-jam maybe that's something to consider? But for what it is, this is a well executed and fun little game, I enjoyed playing it :)

This game is so clever! I really like the concepts in growing your lives by avoiding them. I included it in my GM48 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/2x0hqeP3RWA

The graphics are cute. I don't really understand the seeds or the use of theme.

A bit of a unique idea, though quite simple. Would benefit from a score system and wave counter. Graphics and sound aren't amazing but get the job done. As for theme, presumably the seeds being planted is the "side effect" of crows being killed?

This was an interesting game! I think the biggest hurdle of playing this game for me was figuring out what to do. Let me outline how playing this game went for me-

Game 1: I immediately died trying to hit the birds. To be fair, the purpose of a scarecrow is usally to attract the birds, so that's what I thought I needed to do.

Game 2: I am now avoiding the birds, but not much else is going on. Why are some of the birds turning gray? Also, I was able to get the sceen to shake when pressing space sometimes, but It doesn't always do it. I circled the birds for a while but eventually died.

Game 3: I realize pressing space kills the birds, and they drop little green dots. I collect them, because surely they're some kind of points. When I die, I realize that there is nowhere on the end screen that tracks any kind of points.

Game 4: I decide to see what happens if I leave the seeds on the ground. They turn into plants that give health.

Game 5: I discover that you can stay alive by mashing the spacebar and not moving.

So yeah, it was a bit of a roller coaster figuring out this game. I had fun trying to understand the mechanics, but once I did the result wasn't really all that fun to be honest. I think the main thing that would help would be some sort of score on the end screen- time played, crows killed, or seeds grown into full plants- something like that. Still, it was a good game for the scope that you went for.
