Cute story! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the GM48 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/UEdGTFt7opw

Even with all the little bugs and annoyances, the game is pretty fun, and it's a cool concept.

Even if the execution is a bit flawed (the collision is a bit dodgy and the difficulty is balance is off) this is a pretty cool idea is quite fun to play. At first I was complaining about the character moving really slowly but then I figured out what was going on. It's fun speeding through the level once you take some of damage and there's some interesting tension in deciding whether to move fast or keep healthy.

The visuals aren't too amazing, but I did really like how the bot's expression changes as it gets angrier. The smoke effect was cool too, though maybe a bit large. The music is also quite nice and the sound effects work well enough.

In that case, it's more "harmful but helpful" than "helpful but harmful". Basically, the best way to play is to take damage and completely ignore the robots until the boss to fully enjoy your capabilities.

That said, it was enjoyable to take damage to get powered up tremendously! It's fun to have a fire rate going to oblivion. Although the game has lots of issues, like its buggy movement, how it forces you to take damage (otherwise you can't jump above the 2 stacked containers).

Also a note: You're supposed to make all assets during the 48 hours; even if you us a free licensed music, it's not allowed since it has been made before the jam. :/ You're supposed to make all yourself or have someone else do it during the 48 hours (like we all are supposed to :p ) (I guess you didn't know about this, so it's mostly to keep you informed, not to blame you)

      Thanks for the feedback!

I asked in discord about the music and the reply I got was 'as long as its free licensed' but I'm glad you clarified for me here. I'll know for next time.

It has some problems related to levels design and collisions but I've found this game interesting, it was fun to help happybot :)

This was way more fun to play than I thought it would be.

To be fair it's not really intuitive to learn at first, since the game doesn't introduce any of its mechanics, but once you get how to play, and forget about the bad collisions and movement, and art, and level design, there's a great idea hidden behind, that has probably more potential than the polished entries of this jam.
