These new unstable weapons might be a little to much for your little ship. But don't worry about it, you can always pick the pieces back up. The game contain three types of enemies and one boss fight. Sadly I couldn't implement sound or do much play testing, hopefully you can enjoy this game in its current state.

Very cool concept! My only problem was that my old blind ass had difficulty discerning the enemies from the powerups and bullets sometimes. But otherwise, really well done!

For anyone having trouble playing the game try this link instead:

I had the same issue and pulled this from inspect element. It opens the game on its own and it plays fine there so it may be an issue playing games embedded into the GM48 website for some reason (I hope its ok to share this link here. If not I'll remove it but anyone can access it using inspect element so I think it will be fine).

Great game with a very cool concept. The idea of having weapons that fly out of you with every shot feels very unique and I can't recall seeing that elsewhere. It may have been done before but I haven't seen it. It certainly added some strategy in places although the laser weapon does seem rather OP and can wipe a whole screen of enemies. I died on the 6th wave many times but finally got past it. I was quite surprised that there was a boss battle too. That was alot of fun and I managed to beat it on my first try but it was very close. Overall a very fun game with a very unique mechanic that plays on the theme well.

I, too, am having troubles getting the game to start. I've tried two different PCs and multiple browsers, but I can't take control of the ship; it only turns to face my cursor, but nothing else happens. Am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: Thanks to the workaround Jackaroo found, I've now played the game and it's pretty sweet. Very original concept that adds a lot of strategy. I keep dying at stage 5, but I'm going to keep trying. :)

Same issue as SpritePainter - couldn't get the game to respond to any key presses, including WASD and the d-pad. My ship pointed to the mouse and the starfield was moving, but that's all.

I didn't rate the game - will try it again and update this message if it works.

Cool concept! I enjoyed playing through it - the last level is perfectly challenging!

I wish you had gotten to sound, and maybe made the play area bigger (even just scaled larger) but I had fun :)

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get anything to happen in the game. The ship turns to look at my cursor, and the stars fly by, but otherwise nothing happens. WASD don't seem to do anything. Is there a button I can press to fix this?

Fun concept and execution! Had a good time, props for HTML :D

One nitpick I had was that the weapons tend to hang out near the edges because they lose speed upon bouncing. As a result, the game is never "centered," always happening near the edge of the screen. It would have been neat to mess with the "drift" of the weapons to have them move away from the margins.
