It's a cool idea. Reminds me of Snake. But it's a little tough to tell what's happening at times. If you turn back on yourself the fish begin to blend together and it becomes difficult to tell where exactly the leader fish is. Maybe give the leader fish a different colour or a pattern or something to differentiate it from the others.
I also think it would be nice if you wasn't moving as soon as the level starts. Make it so you start stationary and movement begins as soon as you press one of the keys. The levels would begin so suddenly and I would often be swimming straight into a wall.
The music did get a little repetitive as well to be honest but I liked the style of it. Sort of a gameboy style. In fact the whole game has that kind of gameboy vibe.
I did like the idea of the game though and level design was pretty well done. I played through to the end and it was enjoyable but could just use a few improvements here and there. But with what you have here it's still a very good job. Well done.

"You win", yay! It was nice little snake-like game, but with school of fish. Wasnät difficult, maybe button buffering could have been done for movement, but nothing actually to complain about.

I agree with others in that it is a little confusing at first, but it doesn't take long to figure things out. I really liked the atmosphere this game gives off, to me it's quite wholesome and the retro-style holds up very well. I enjoyed playing through it.

It's an interesting game you made here, the sprite work is simple and to the point but gets the job done nicely.
My only real complaints are that some things are not as clear as they should be, like the leader fish should stand out from the followers especially when they are stacked near one another, it gets hard to tell who's who. also the hazards don't really look like hazards with the exception of the other fish.
still a neat game you made here, good job.

This is a unique spin on the theme, I don't think many other games went for a formation falling apart, pretty neat interpretation.
Do the boxes break faster when you have more finish, or is it the same rate no matter how many fish you have? I couldn't quite tell, but I think that would be a neat concept, if you interacted with things differently depending on how many fish are in formation.

Wish there was a little more animation happening between fish-movement frames (especially the enemys) but this was a cool little game! Great artwork too :)

Thanks for submitting to GM(48), that's quite the task all by itself!
I like the ideas happening here. I'm a huge fan of grid-based puzzle games. The idea of playing as fish and avoiding spikes and sturgeons was fun, and the pixel art was consistent and pleasant to look at. Because the fish automatically start moving though, I had trouble understanding the mechanics at first. It would be nice if each room didn't start the player's movement until they input a direction for the first time. Having the leader fish look different to the follower fish would also be appreciated, because sometimes the fish can overlap and they all face the same direction, so it was hard to tell where the player is. The overall volume was pretty loud, but I suppose I could also just turn down my computer audio.
Overall an interesting design for the time allowed by the jam. Keep it up!

I like the style you're going for here, kind of Gameboy/NES vibes, I notice that's a look you do quite often and it works well. It's a good entry and I enjoyed it. I would only recommend that there are some more visal cues on-screen when I was playing, it took me a while to figure out I had to move away from the box for it to break and sometimes I got lost in which fish was leading the pack or how many I had left when they overlapped - a little indicator like that would make this game so much better. But, nit-picks aside, good entry! :)
