(This is an html5 game so you should totally click play by the way)
Spawn minions to fight for you, but watch out, as everytime you spawn a minion you lose a fifth of your health. As the game gets progressively more difficult you will create a huge army of minions that you need to guide while also making sure you don't die yourself.
(instructions are also in the game.)
- Left-click to move the target to your mouse.
- Right-click to spawn a minion.
- WASD/arrow keys to move your character.
Every time a minion is spawned, a fifth of your health is taken away. A health pack is dropped whenever a zombie dies, so pick them up to get more health and to spawn more minions. Minions automatically move to the target and shoot the closest zombie that is in range. Some zombies have swords and will deal damage when they touch you, some zombies have guns and will deal damage when they shoot you.

Hectic and fun game! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the GM48 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/po4FqYmf9EQ

Pretty fun. At first I tried to make minions one by one, but their targeting AI is really bad and they didn't shoot the closest enemy and died pretty quick. Then I just made 4 right from the start and continued spawning more and I was invincible.
So, nice concept, but not balanced at all.On another note, the sound effect are way too loud compared to the music.

This is basically rebel from nuclear throne, and I love it.
The only problem is that you didn't really balance the gameplay so it ends up being too easy and too repetitive.

Neat game. It's fun creating a massing army of minions to obliterate any enemies that appear. However, it really needs to increase in difficulty somehow because currently it's easy to build up your army to the point that the enemies can't really do much.
The visual style is pretty nice and the music fits the game well. The sound effects are good too, but something really needs to be done to limit the minion shooting sound as it gets very loud when lots of minions shoot at the same time.

Simple. Kinda neat, but heh, too easy to abuse the system.
All I did was leave the crosshair in the middle and spam minions whenever I could. Easy Peasy.

I liked this, it was simple and a nice use of theme. The dominant strategy of producing as many zombies as possible and having an instant killing mob trivialized things quickly. It would be nice to have had something to counter that. It was enjoyable getting to that point though, good job.

Nice game and good use of the theme.
As other have said you can improve the variety of gameplay by adding some obstacle.

Really enjoyed this entry! I played it for a few minutes and had a horde so big that anytime some poor dude came in range, it would wipe out an entire column! (They seemed to only spawn in the 4 corners) This left me enough health packs to summon another 3-5 dudes safely.
I think I might have had too many, because the game froze on a big volley. Really enjoyed the concept though, and great use of the theme.

Nice use of theme. My minion wouldn't listen and often shot enemies that weren't the closest. Would be great with more castle walls and item barriers which would also break up the linear enemy movement and give you options for running/hiding/slaying.

This is a nice approach on the theme :). In this state, it was a bit to easy and is missing more enemy types. But I really like the idea of spawning minions with your own health, i think this can be easily expanded!

A very simple game concept executed well is how I see Horde. Moving around dodging the zombies while constantly having to make a decision between spawning in a zombie and losing some health or waiting a bit. The theme use in this game is very good. I have a few gripes about this game and they are that the minions are a bit weak and can only soak up 1 bullet. When there are heaps of zombies it barely gets to live for a second before dying. Maybe giving them slightly more health or not making them use as much of the king's health when they are spawned. The music is nice and compliments the game but the pixel art is quite basic.
