This is my game, Monlomek. It is the only one with that name. I made it in only one weekend. Only one button is required to play, and only one appendage is required to push/hold that button. You can use any button you desire. I would recommend the '1' button for maximum immersion. I would not recommend the 'escape' button because that also restarts/ends the game. You should need only one minute to pick up the basics of Monlomek, and you should need only one lifetime to master it. I hope you give it a try, even if it's only once.

Monlomek is a pseudo-rhythm game in which you race to build up the beat against an ever-increasing tempo and a constantly shifting enviroment that threatens to shake your concentration and collapse in on you.

I was able to play this game and have a lot of fun with it after reading your replies to previous comments -- I think you're correct that the main thing to work on is presenting the information a bit better to players, but once you have the understanding, it's a very fun and unique game. The style and vibes are so clean and pleasant, too. Great work!

I really like the idea here, and the music blends in really well. Personally I thought that the timing gap was fine, but most people seem to disagree, so I guess it wouldn't have hurt to increase it a little. I was a little bit confused about how to actually score points and what caused me to die, but it was fun just moving around to the beat, and the rotation circle was really cool. Good work!

For points, you are intended to follow the arrow to a special circle that adds a beat to the music and gives you points for as long as it stays active. They are deactivated when they are destroyed, which is also how you lose (I wrote a bit about that just below).

Thank you for the kind words! It seems that a bit of clarity is the main thing the post-jam version needs.

I really like the smooth visuals, I was purposly was trying to lose but couldn't figure out how! Still a neat project

The circle you start on will eventually detonate (countdown indicated by inner circles) and then cause a chain reaction with all connected circles. Moving onto a circle marked with a skull will start a new chain reaction. The detonation speed increases as your tempo/challenge level does, and eventually moving skulls will spawn to start reactions too. If you are orbiting a circle when it detonates, that's game over!

Moving in one direction as fast as you can is enough to avoid losing, but you also aren't likely to score any points. Not a good state to have possible honestly. I'll probably change that in the post-jam version.

      Thanks for playing!

I didn't realize you could hold the button until I read the feedback, but I still had a decent time with the game! Overall I had a good time with it.

I think the style and music in this game is really nice but as others had pointed out already, I think the timing is really tight to make the move, I only just realised looking back I could've just held the button 😅 that aside, this is a fun, surrealist game with an interesting take, good job

I love the look of the game and the mechanic. It didn't seem to always move to the next spot when I pressed the button, but other than that, it was pretty cool.

Glad you liked it, thanks for playing!

You can just hold the button and you will move to the next spot as soon as it detects you are able to. Timing the press is a little too precise. I forgot to mention that important bit. Thanks for reminding me!
Edit: Realized you also might be referring to the zones with an "X" in them. Those are blocked. It plays a different sound but yeah, I could have made that clearer too.

Agree with Victor - hard to understand what I'm doing. Unique style, cool menu, cool layout and use of the background. Music blends well together

I have no idea what I'm doing but it feels soooooo goood . Everybody should play this one.

You really nail it with the music/rythim and art.

As per theme no complains is there with the use of just 1 button !

Edit: Finally got it, haha well at least I was able to score some points feels much better now that I understood how to make some points.

Happy to hear there were enough positives to outweigh the confusion, and that you were still able to figure it out eventually. Thanks for playing! 😃
