Sacrifice your way to Artugo's Favor to become village chief.

Work in the fields, trade goods, and manage workers while sacrificing your wealth and health to gain favor in Artugo's eyes.


Talk to the Shaman daily, after midnight, to determine which of Artugo's five moods he is in. This will affect the amount of favor you get for your sacrifices. There are four levels to reach:

  • Peasant
  • Trader
  • Noble
  • Chief

There is a winning goal of 1000 favor. Balance your resources and time to successfully reach the top.


Artugo has five moods:

  • Spiteful: Will probably not accept anything you offer
  • Vengeful: Will probably enjoy painful offerings
  • Neutral
  • Merciful: Will probably accept anything you offer
  • Joyful: Will probably not enjoy painful offerings

Health can sometimes be restored by having full energy and health.

Random events happen based on the level of favor you currently have.

Note: The music can get a little wonky sometimes. Couldn't figure out why volume was changing so much. There's a mute button next to the date display.

There is no sound in the HTML5 version of the game.

    This seems like a cool idea, but I'm pretty terrible at it. I made it to Trader and had about 200 favour but I couldn't trade anything and ended up running out of food and dying. The game seems to work well but more explicit instructions would be nice. The graphics are pretty good, though the music gets annoying. I did like how the music gets quieter at night even though that's apparently unintended.

      The music switching to the bassline at night was intended, but it's the first time I've experimented with synced sound tracks and it caused some weird overlapping and volume control issues. I also probably should have made a longer music loop that was a little more varied.

    Incredible. I love playing this but it can get very hard to play through (sometimes you are poor as dirt with no corn and no favour). Love the idea though, and the implementation. Music was catchy and the art was great. Impressive amount of polish for a game of this genre within this amount of time. Well done!

    Balancing aside, it can get very hard and very long. However, I think this adds replay value. I will come back to this on my own time. Can't wait to see what comes next of this and from you!

    Incredible game, the idea was great and the execution even greater, except for some minor things like the difficulty and weird audio volume this game was flawless.

    I managed to win and keep all my limbs after a ton of tries, but I can still say the game was way too hard and unbalanced, getting corn as a noble is requires too much luck, and artugo's mood swings are kinda frustrating.

    But as I said those are minor things, and overall the game was a ton of fun and the idea along with the execution was good enough to let me safely say that this is one of the best games of this jam.

    Sometimes a bit too hard:

    • The peasant takes a long moment to gather enough corn
    • The trader can get stuck at some point and that forces you to sacrifice limbs

    Aside that, it was fun! I managed to end with just one arm left, but at least I am a divinity now.

    I don't really get the game. I guess I'm just bad at it hehe.
    But I liked putting stuff for sacrifice, even my own limbs. But I noticed at the table there were 3 hands and one foot, that's a pretty weird dude

    I like the idea of sacrificing body parts, I did a similar thing in my own entry. I played this several times but found progress difficult and seemingly random, even after following the guide in your description (in-game instructions would have saved some frustration). I waited for Artugo to become joyful but then my foot would be diseased and I would lose favor anyway. One time the sacrifice took place during midnight and I was punished for the mood he had the next day? The balance of the sleep/work/food stats felt like you never made progress either, I guess this is to force you to sacrifice your body parts though. I liked the graphics, a fair amount of work for 48 hours, just needs the balance of gameplay adjusted, I feel, to make it more engaging.

    This is interesting and applies the theme in a unique way, although things do become a bit too difficult at times. I like that you can sacrifice your own limbs to appease Artugo. It's a nice little touch.

    I played and got usually negative favor when offering the corn, -100 when offering the feet, and then it went up to +100 when I offered the hands.

    The game sticks to the theme well and the mechanics are interesting. I like how you have to sacrifice your limbs as a last resort. Could be more balanced though. Good Job!

    Was there supposed to be sound/music in the game?

      The sacrifices are actually hardcoded to Artugo's mood, which changes every day at midnight, and every once in a while, when you talk to the Shaman. There are patterns, but I may have hidden them a little well. Thank you for the feedback!

    I really like the graphics and presentation! The game is hard, though. Is there an end point or just high scores? Also I liked the small details like not being able to work if you lose too many limbs. The only way I managed to progress far was to sacrifice an arm and a leg, then trade what coin I had been gifted. I couldn't figure out how to get far with just field working and not sacrificing multiple limbs at once. I think this could be a cool simulation/trading/stat juggling game with better difficulty balancing. The game could have done with some instructions at the start, too.

      There is an end point. At certain levels of favors, your role/actions change. The first change happens at 200 favor.

      Talk to the shaman every day to learn Artugo's mood, which affects the amount of favor you get from offerings.

      There is music in the windows version. The HTML5 version was a last minute export, and the sound didn't export correctly.

    I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. I lost multiple times by talking to the shaman, "fell out of favor" even if I was at 300.

    I liked how I couldn't trade without hands or work without feet, but the favor you get from sacrifices seemed pretty random.

    Also if you try to offer you left foot at the start of the game (or, I think as first sacrifice) you get an error.

    Maybe I missing something, but I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if there's bugs so... :( Apart from that, the presentation of the game was really cool

    EDIT : I tried it again after seing the tips and it was way more clear, really cool game :)
