I liked that I could hold the button to keep shooting instead of murdering my mouse 👀

Pretty good game, but I agree with JesusAche, the stars were very distracting to me, made it a little hard to understand what was happening and I did miss a few enemy bullets because of those. Overall, the concept seemed a bit weird at first, but it works really well! There are some cool ideas around the coin toss, and even if the enemy / power variety is pretty low, it was a fun time.

My high score was just below 2 mil I think.

My games will be mouse/finger friendly from this point on. Have no fear.

There's definitely a lot of room for fleshing out the game with more powerups and enemies, but it was out of my scope, as I didn't intend for this game to be too big.

      Thanks for playing

Favourite track in the game, it remindsd me a lil bit of Sunset Riders, appropiately enough one of the best arcade games. It did annoy me how contrasting the stars on either border of the screen are, tho. They create a lot of noise specially when the game gets harder, but other than that the gme is pretty juicy and clean, I enjoyed the mechanic of grabbing my coin after I took damage a lot. It's a nice take on the lives and health system all wrapped into one.

Feedback on the stars seems to flop from person to person. They don't bother me but it does bother some others. Ultimately it shoulda been changed though.

Very original idea that kept me busy for a while. I loved the coin flip animation and sound, felt very satisfying especially with a successful catch! Loved it.

Definitely feels like a Seltzy game :) Buckets of polish!

Great art and sound(no surprise!), and the concept is pretty unique. And I really liked the idea of altering the odds.

I don't even know if this is something that can be fixed, but I had issues when trying to move near the bottom edge, my mouse would go off the screen and the hand would get stuck. I missed several coins that way. If you could track the mouse outside the window, that'd be awesome!

The risk / reward of tossing your coin seemed a bit weak (on the reward side). One idea might be that enemies destroyed by the coin would have a small explosion radius? Not sure, that might be OP. Or maybe every X enemies killed by the coin creates a new coin? I wanted a way to gain coins!

But I do wish that coin throwing and the 'call it' buff were a tad bit stronger somehow. Maybe the 'call it' buff could 'store up' a pool of rapid-fire, instead of being on a timer -- sometimes I would get a buff but only get a few shots for my trouble.

Overall this was really cool concept and fun!

PS. I uploaded a video of my playthrough

After watching your video I can certainly understand your complaint with mousing off screen since I saw it get in the way a few times. Nice final score though.

My scope ultimately wasn’t too large, but which lead to me being lax about balancing. I didn’t want a session to be too long so I was okay with the buff becoming less useful but I’m finding that it feels bad in its current state. Similar rationale for being able to gain coins back.

Thanks for playing, and especially for giving thoughtful feedback.

Great idea, love having the coin for a life. However I wish you wouldn't be able to lose the coin while doing a coin toss, makes it hard to dodge enemies, bullets, and keep track of your coins position to try and get a buff. And speaking of buffs. I felt the buffs you got didn't last long enough to be enjoyable. Most of the time my rapid fire wouldn't even hit anything because it didn't really last long enough to do so. More buff types "all enemies on screen destroyed, temporary invincibility, big hand mode, etc" would have been cool too.

More buff types were considered, but I decided it was out of scope. The buff does offer invincibility for its duration, but It isn’t stated anywhere.

The concept here is pure genius, it took me some time to get a handle on what I was going but the idea of it is brilliant, though I found myself betting on heads an awful lot as I was holding down the left mouse to shoot anyway, which is fine as it just meant I went for the heads power-up's more haha! I managed to break 1.4mil and I'm happy with that! Great game!

This was fun. I particularly liked the ability to catch your coin after you get hit. Great work!
