During an asteroid mining expedition your ship loses power and you become trapped in an asteroid belt. Collect nearby reasources to bolster your defenses against frequent meteor-showers and rival space miners!

In this game every collected resource has a different side-effect. By consuming certain resources you can gear your ship for defense, offense, mining, or any mixture of the three. There are also rarer resources that give you direct upgrades. Some materials can also be deposited into your base for upgrades or to be turned into placeable turrets.

As the game progresses, the difficulty will slowly increase. Your asteroid will slowly be chipped away by incoming meteors and enemy mining ships. Having a gameplan to utilize your resources effectively will be your key to success!

Pace is slow at the beginning, if the player was given more mining speed earlier it would help the flow a lot.

Was really cool watching you stream the development and also see how it's meant to be played. I tried it out and was dying pretty fast but think I'll eventually get the hang of it (I need to memorize materials and what they do). The audio is great and fitting with the graphics. The mechanic of throwing materials to be picked up later is very useful making you lighter when you need to be. Pretty sweet how you can destroy blocks deeper in to expose more blocks to find the ones you need. In the future I'd put the page turning actually on the page cause I didn't realize it at first and was trying to find where to get turrets (it might actually be better as tabs with icons instead of numbered pages). Love this entry, definitely has replay value. Great job!

I think you've got a solid concept here but I did find I couldn't figure out how to upgrade anything other than my core HP, which made the pacing a little slower than I was expecting - there are some great elements in here, like the random generation and mining gameplay, I just think it might help to up the pace a little - overall, good concept and great start, I hope you continue on this one as it has a lot of potential :)

I guess I wasn't understanding that my stats were getting worse when I used them in the inventory menu sometimes. That wasn't too clear, but I get that was probably the "Side-Effect" for the theme. Well, it was fun, and it was cool to see the different resources and the enemies coming at you from a distance. I liked the whole feel of the game, but I just wish things were a little more clear. Could just be my fault, though.

This game has interesting mechanics and a good use of the theme: you not only have to manage the side effects of each material you choose to upgrade yourself with, but also whether you want to spend materials on yourself or your base, and the side effects of that decision. The visuals work well with the atmospheric music, and I was genuinely surprised the first time I saw a horde of red ships mining away at the wall near me, forcing me to confront them... when I had spent all my materials so far improving my mining speed and carrying capacity, leaving me a sitting duck. Overall, this was really good!

Interesting idea! I included it in my GM48 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/gQOVaoF4Jeg

I watched your gameplay video! I'd like to point out that all of the gameplay actually revolves around the inventory and managing that but you never opened it

Impressive that you recreated Space Engineers in 48 hours. Or maybe that just means Space Engineers should have way more content by now. Unfortunately, this game seems really unbalanced right now, since the enemy consistently attacks, all four at once, before you are ready to deal with them even one at a time. Needs to be more upgrading, less tradeoff. Overall cool concept though, decent art & sound, UI is a bit clunky but nothing terrible, impressive scope for 48 hours.

I'm assuming the "four at once" enemy raid you experienced was because you played for ~8 minutes and the naturally spawning enemy camp had spit out a bunch of miners. I intended for this to teach players that exploring early is a great way to make sure enemy build-up doesn't happen, and then once they find the enemy camp they can nip this problem in the bud and easily survive for several more minutes. The actual enemy spawning system never places more than two miners at once, even at max difficulty.

    Pros:

    • Really enjoyed the game type (collecting resources and building in space)
    • Good UI to present elements
    • Tutorial / messaging was useful to get the hang of things
    • Music / sound really added to the feel

    Cons:

    • Some UI elements was unaware of how to use (click on icon to deposit resources)
    • Unsure where the side-effects went in this...
    • Bit slow to mine resources (could feel tedious at one point)

Really fun game, even if some things were lacking, was entertained, which is all that matters in the end with any game :)
