Play as Angle, an elite master-engineer, piloting her cyber-tank W.R.E.C.T. (Wireless Resourceless Engine of Cybertransformation), humanity's final chance to survive Space Invaders attack! Try different modes to outwit enemies.

This is 2d platformer with some physics. Very unfinished, so consider it a demo.

CONTROLS

A, D - move

Spacebar - jump

Ctrl - switch W.R.E.C.T. modes

Enter - use mode special ability

R - restart level

Esc - close the simulation (Use Enter near the chair in this build or Esc again in fixed build to back in simulation.)

MODES

Normal - average speed and defence.

Fast - maximum speed and jump, BUT low defence.

Tank - maximum defence, BUT you are very slow and almost can't jump.

Greed - enemies spawn more coins and you can collect it easilier, BUT you can't spend it in this demo anyway, so yeah.

Guns - you can shot an unlimited homing rocket, BUT that ruins whole balance.

Gravity - you can change gravity, BUT great power is great responsibility.

Stealth - enemies can't see you if you standing still, BUT you are pretty helpless.

BUGS

Game is dramatically unfinished for sure, but also there are some realy major bugs, so here is a version with just these main bugs fixed: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16bJ6NB1zptXKPtBSvZs5KKLdddvlU_W1/view?usp=sharing

Interesting game. I included it in my compilation video series of all of the GM48 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/UEdGTFt7opw

This game would've been great had you cut the amount of modes in half and instead added some actual stuff to do. Lots of potential for sure.

Yeah, thats why jams is so usefull to learn prioritizing & time management. You can see what is going wrong, and there is no real penalty if you fails.

It's important to budget your time, and having a limited scope for your game helps with that. I hope that making this game helped you improve with budgeting and planning in the future.

The game has potential, but probably way too much stuff to it. I'm guessing it's the reson it's unfinished? It feels promising though. I think that looking through the "ship" is nice, but not sure why it's there. I like how there is a handy gravity mode!

But that collision bug. Damn. :/ Everytime I jump near a wall, I get to the wrong side of the forc... I mean the wrong side of the platform, and it makes me fly through space. I mean, I like space, but I wanted to play your game as intended :p

That damned bug is most likely related to rectangles rotation on jump and gravity change. Gosh, I have to just make it an animation and not spend time on it!

This seems like it has potential to be a cool game, but as you said it's unfinished. There's a lot of different ideas here but it feels pretty unfocused right now. Are all these modes really necessary? How is the ability to change gravity at will going to be balanced in a real game? Is there any point to walking around inside the ship? Actually, I did think it was a pretty cool detail to be able to walk around inside the ship even if it was pointless.

Aside from that, the graphics and music are pretty cool.

Actually, I was having this idea in my mind for a while, and thought Jam is a good place to prototype it and get some responce. So have a simple game like Gravity Dash, what appears more complex at some point, when you realise that there is a pilot in your rectangle, the rectangle itself is a complex machine with a few floors and different rooms where you can freely move, enemy rectangles are also a ships that you can explore and steal resources (time in outer world is stop when you are in the inside world), in walls could be tunnels, etc. The outside gameplay should be fun and juicy, while inside is cozy and meditative, here you can upgrade your ship and learn the story. Is there any REAL point to walking around inside the ship? I think not, but like that idea for some reason.

This game is insane. I didn't understand some of the transformations but the Gravity one and the Guns one are the most fun to play on. The music stacking itself is unpleasant but I liked the detail of seeing inside the ship, it alone put more personality to your game.

The music is awesome but when the game restarts it continues to play and then restarts a new sound clip so both are playing at the same time. I died a lot so you can imagine how many times the music was playing.

Hey, thanks. Link to the fixed version is in the description. Of course you should decrease rating for that bug in "release", but in case you just want to play without it.

The gravity mode was certainly interesting. So was the art in engine's internals when zoomed in.

I didn't quite know what I should do or what the collectible codes were for.

It's honestly not much more than a prototype, and there's nothing to do, but hey, at least it's better than not submitting anything :P

THE MUSIC IS TOO LOUD !!!!
So hmmm, you can't really do anything ? I managed to change my sprite and go inside. That was a cool surprise, too bad there isn't anything more. Also no description so... maybe I missed something but well..
