Summary

Letters in SPACE is a unique and challenging shoot 'em up game with a creative letter-based mechanic. Players appreciated the initial gameplay and sound effects but found the difficulty curve steep and sometimes frustrating, especially at higher levels. Some technical issues like slowdowns and sound crackling were noted, along with suggestions for better keyboard layout support and additional in-game cues. The graphics were considered simplistic, and the absence of music was remarked upon.

I tried out, I managed to get to Nightmare! Difficulty on second try, then also I found that there was shop. On later difficulties there were just too many enemies, and they didn't just want to die, so I got trapped and tried hold as long as I could (and I couldn't get anymore upgrade, because I was trapped).

The gameplay was good and in the beginning the shooting felt good (bullets hit their target and were good size), but later enemies got too hard to kill and there were just too many. I played with HTML5, had pretty bad slowdowns on final moments, as there was so much stuff going on.

On graphical-wise this was really simplistic, by the game and hud, it didn't feel much. There was no music, maybe something simple could have been done? The sounds had some crackling noise, which was bad.

Pretty fun, but the difficulty might be too much. It's fine at first, but as soon as it ramps up, it becomes impossible to win because you can't escape the Y at all and they suck your life faster than anything else.

And yes note for the keyboard control, some people, like Adrien, have a zqsd layout instead of wasd.

Really nice game! I included it in my GM48: Countdown compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/sIqVaQkuHIo

Just one thing though, some people don't have their keyboard configured for WASD by default :p

Quite a difficult SHMUP, but the letter idea was quite unique.

Perhaps if there was some cues or hints in game to let players know what destroying the MEGA BOSSES give to players that beat them. The difficulty is fine to create the challenge, but too fast of a difficulty curve could sway away players.

A very fitting idea of a game overall.

Thank you for playing my game! Really appreciate your feedback. Boss-Battles didn't get quite to the point where they are more than hp-monsters because I ran out of time.
