gm(48) Mission Statement
Our mission is to support the GameMaker community through opportunity to learn, represent every type of GameMaker developer, empower unique creative games, and connect developers from separate communities together.
Support the GameMaker community through opportunity to learn
With 2543 participants to date, the gm(48) game jam has for over 8 years been instrumental in enabling developers to become better at game design, game development and GameMaker Studio 2.
5This was my first game jam i have ever participated in, and i must say it was really fun! It's a great opportunity to learn and improve your game developing skills.
5I had a perfect version at 7:00. Deadline gets extended 15 mins so I try to add one little thing to it. Fatal error on my submitted project with no way to fix one simple mistake that completely ruins an entire 48-hour slugfest BY MYSELF.
Probably won't be attending another.
5It was fun to make a game about a kid shooting down an internet company under 48 hours
5It's always a challenge to create something in such a short time but one of the most useful aspects of the game jam is the feedback. Often the feedback will highlight something positive or areas of improvement which gives you direction and snaps you out of the bubble you are in.
5Excellent game jam for any skill level! This jam really brings out the best in people and allows everyone, including myself, to grow their game development skills! I cannot wait for the next one.
5This is the best gamedev-related event I have ever had the honor to participate in. I had a blast working on my games and it's an experience no one should miss!
5The Jam was a lot of fun! One tip I can give to future participants: Nail down what you want to do as quickly as possible! If you don't, it might come around later and bring unwanted trouble!
5Really fun Jam with a great community.
5This is a great game jam. I joined this game jam when i was only 2 weeks into coding, and i enjoyed every second.
5GM(48) never fails to inspire and motivate me to make a game.
The community is awesome and I would've never made so many games without it.
It's the perfect balance between playing and making!
5I'm sweating. I learned a lot in such a short amount of time (especially about time management). The 29th GM48 was my first jam and I'm happy with what I produced.
We all start somewhere and I'm so grateful for this opportunity.
5I've done this a couple times now, and each time is more fun than the last. It's cool seeing how I've improved since I started, and overall participating has been a great deal of fun!
Represent every type of GameMaker developer
The gm(48) game jam is open to GameMaker Studio 2 developers of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Beginner or expert, young or old, artist or programmer — all are welcome in the gm(48) game jam community.
Empower unique, creative and indie GameMaker games
The gm(48) Developer Funding program is a new, exciting opportunity for the game jam community to bootstrap GameMaker games from their game jam prototypes to fully finished games and released on digital storefronts, such as Steam.
LINNA - Devotion to Locomotion
Take control of Linna the walking fort. Build defensive walls and turrets as enemies come and try to destroy it.
Lovebirds
Take flight as a blind, smitten recluse! Use your bird friends to map out the obstacles, then draw a path that steers clears of them, all while trying to find true love!
Sinker Squid
Plunge below the high seas and pillage some booty from the depths, using... SQUID?!
Connect GameMaker developers from separate communities together
The gm(48) game jam community is full of passionate, skillful and constructive developers. Connect with other like-minded GameMaker Studio 2 developers, see and learn how they make their games, and become better developers together.
